In the first 30 days of using MFP and working out, I lost 18.8 lbs. I started at 5'8 and 220.8 lbs.

I eat my entire dinner before working out 100% of the time. I work 8-5, get home around 545, and have a husband and 2 young kids who want dinner then. In a perfect world, I could go to the gym straight from work, work out, and then cook dinner but I cant make them (especially the kids) eat dinner at 7-730 pm when their…

You've got this!

I've been slicing up a banana, freezing it, and then drizzling a little choc syrup on top. SO good!

Every day but I dont worry if the scale stalls or something. Weight can vary for so many reasons! My scale didnt go down at all for the last 2 weeks (and I was weighing daily!) - it would go up .5 lb, back down .5 lb, repeat, repeat, and then magically over the weekend - I went down a lb below my previous lowest. It all…

I totally understand this struggle as I work full time and have a 6 year old and 3 year old. I do sometimes feel like I am *choosing* the gym over hanging out with them on weeknights. I have an awesome husband who is super helpful and its still hard! I workout 5-6 days a week - one day I get up at 430 am and go before the…

I LOVE the Bolthouse Yogurt dressings. Its nice to have a creamy dressing that is low in cals and fat!

I know a LOT of people do this. They prep lunch and dinners for every night that week on Sunday but I just can't. I can't eat the same thing every day. I might eat yogurt every day for breakfast but thats about as routine as I get - and I even mix that up with flavors, toppings, etc, lol. I have lunch meals that I rotate…

Not super unusual - just keep on keeping on! My scale has been "stuck" for 2 weeks - annoying, sure? but thats just how it goes - it isnt linear and isnt perfect and you just have to keep up the work!

I used to always have a cheat meal - Sunday nights dinner - almost always ordered pizza and ate too much of it. I still lost a healthy and decent rate. Then a few months back, I decided to start cooking. Like, really cooking. Not just baked chicken and veggies but really good yummy recipes. When I started doing that, I…

I am set at 1200 calories/day and am comfortable at 1200. Sure, I COULD eat more, like a slice of chocolate cake every night sounds great, but I'm not actually HUNGRY. I weight/measure everything except some prepackaged items like yogurt and applesauce cups. I eat breakfast at 10 - around 150 calories, lunch at 1230 -…

Only packing what I have planned to eat for breakfast/lunch/afternoon snack for that day alone really helps at work! I stay on track because I have no other options! I do keep some low calorie hard candy/lifesavers at my desk since that tends to help if I really need something "to keep my mouth busy". At home and on…

We are a family of 4 - myself, my husband, a 6 year old and 3 year old. I spend about $100/week. I do not buy organic, I buy a lot of store brand, we have 1-2 meatless meals per week, I do not coupon, I do not buy any drinks other than 1/2 gallon of milk a week. We all eat breakfast and dinner at home. We eat out maybe one…

Calories are my big focus - but I do look at protein and sodium as well.
-
I had dry cereal (multigrain cheerios) and strawberries. I usually have Greek yogurt!

I usually buy at Target. It lasts me forever though!

Banana with PB2. Greek yogurt. Dry cereal & strawberries. Bagel thin with lowfat cream cheese.

I cue up Netflix and binge watch shows while doing cardio - elliptical, arc trainer, running (treadmill) and stairmaster. Time flies! Ps. Don't watch Greys Anatomy though. Crying while doing cardio isnt fun ;)

A heart rate monitor will be more accurate.

I promise that taking another day or two to rest wont wipe out an entire month of progress. I typically only take 1 rest day a week as well but was hit with the flu/strep throat last weekend - I took 4 days off from the gym. I waited until I was eating again, fever-free and not miserable.
-
Not super uncommon for the first week but I know its frustrating nonetheless! Can you open up your diary? We may be able to look and give some input :)
-
They aren't something I'll eat every day because of the sodium BUT it is nice to add 2 or so a month to my lunch mix just for variety! I like the Healthy Choice steamers.

Old Navy has pretty good stuff at good prices - which I like since I don't want to spend lots of money on stuff I am outgrowing :) Lululemon if you want to splurge :D

For me - it's knowing how freaking awful it would be to have to lose these same pounds again. It's seeing progress, feeling confident.
