  • @Karlottap omg is that the truth, I sat there and told my gastro doc I wanted to stop taking protonix to avoid the magnesium depletion. He was like "I'm not aware of any magnesium depletion". I pulled all the info up on my phone and told him since he had been taking protonix himself for over 15 years, he should seriously…
  • That and I never react well to the sugar alcohols, they screw my stomach up.
  • @daylitemag I too dealt with this problem, it was very brief however, luckily I was reading the book The art and science of low carbohydrate living. Exactly as I was facing it I read that lack of sodium in the diet is the leading cause since lack of carbs reduces total water retained. The recommendation was to consume a…
  • @Christine_72 I took it as the high fat canned milk! All that fat has to make the chia pudding all that much better! Lol
  • Fat 75-80% Protein 15-20% Carbs 0-5% Exercise days I sometimes go a bit higher on protein and lower on carbs. Works great! I also intermittent fast 7 days a week, however I've read that doesn't sit too well with some women due to wrecking havoc on the hormones. I eat from 2pm to 7pm and consume only water, electrolytes and…
  • What a save! I'm so moving next to an airport ASAP! Seriously though, I read 1984 for the second time about a year ago, and boy are things going downhill. I can't believe they monitor people like that. Just like it being mandatory to share social media information to get hired for a new job. Unreal!
  • @SamandaIndia I've never tried using coconut milk, that's sounds so good I'm actually about to do it right now lol
  • Oh I feel you on that @gsp90x that's why I've literally just stopped getting out of ketosis lol. As long as I'm very strict and avoid all artificial sweeteners and excess protein intake. I swear digestion is so effortless, no symptoms of any upset whatsoever. Lchf is a godsend, what makes it so unbelievable is that some…
  • I remember once I decided to give up protonix for good, I read that it would be 2 weeks of agonizing rebound reflux. Boy was it hard not going and taking a pill for relief. But just as the posts I had read, after that period it just got way better quick. I know exactly what you mean. I hate that it's so hard to give up, I…
  • I was on protonix for 5 years, I got off of it after reading that long term it causes severe magnesium deficiencies. Even my Gastroenterologist didn't know that (what a surprise). Are you taking any digestive enzymes? The ticket for me was Now foods super enzymes. It took a good week of heartburn coming back and I kept at…
  • Make sure you keep the fat up, don't eat too much protein(1 gram per kg of body weight has worked well for me) , that has slowed me a few times (I'd say gluconeogenesis). Watch the sugar alcohols as there are a few that will cause insulin responses. And as previously mentioned, patience!
  • I've made it clear from the start, that it was food for thought. And that I know many people who get great results eating sugar. I never said OP has to stop eating sugar whatsoever. I'm just stating that the same dosent apply to everyone from my experience. I never stated anything as absolute, on the contrary, I stated it…

  • A whole article on how we can't defeat the law of thermodynamics. However it ends with some people being believed by researchers to be diet resistant. With brains perceiving things differently. Doesn't sound like everyone is alike, does it? I experimented with two trials of the same exercise and ONLY changed my macros to…

  • Sure, since we all handle everything exactly alike. All our metabolisms function identically. Thanks for the heads up.

  • In its totality, what I meant was that eating sugar and carbs left me at 175 with a skinny fat frame. Same exercise as eating a ketogenic diet. Now however, I am 173 with way lower body fat levels. Like I said, this is NOT universal. Many people handle carbohydrates better than I do. I utilize fat way more efficiently than…

  • As I stated personally, I was 316 lbs and dropped down to 175lbs consuming it. As I fluctuated I have gone down to 173 lbs on a ketogenic diet. My health and blood markers are better than ever. If you research the science between insulin and fat metabolism, maybe you'd learn otherwise. Obviously, you have to replace the…

  • Nope as in what I stated? Or as in sugar consumption?

  • While sugar might not affect weight loss at a caloric deficit, it will inhibit fat loss. Insulin spikes keep you from achieving fat loss. I don't state this as universal since some are more carbohydrate/sugar tolerant than others. However, personally I have found with my weight fluctuations to be quite sensitive. Once…

  • Natural calm, start with half a teaspoon in the morning and half before bed. Add flax oil to your diet as well. If you google flax oil for constipation, they have charts that show how to work your way up. If you rely on the medical industry, they will just mask symptoms and never attack the root cause. I was told I would…
