SW: 236 CW: 168 GW: 150 It was stuck at 171 for a few days because of a bit carby on the weekend and some big DOMS going on, but seems to be heading back down finally.

I plan to hit the gym after work for another grueling leg day with my daughter and hubby. That's about the extent of things for me!

Welcome!

I changed my goal midstream. My new goal for this week is to eat intuitively instead of obsessing over every little thing I put in my mouth and meticulously logging and planning my meals. I sat down here this morning and almost went straight to my diary to figure out the day, but I stopped myself! Let's just let the day…

Sounds like my diet @PaleoInScotland - we're on the same page!
-
I've used a mix of parmesan and herbs...dip in egg, dredge in parmesan, fry - yum!

This video was very interesting and informative, thank you for sharing! It helped clear up some things for me, too, and it makes me think that maybe I am too obsessed with trying to attain macro goals each day when I should just keep eating these foods until my body says to stop. Perhaps I don't need to spend time each…

Same over here, Lori - we got dis!

It might sound weird, but yesterday I was making tuna sandwiches for lunch for my boys and wanted a tuna sandwich too...so did my daughter, and she's low carb as well... We came up with the idea of a tuna "melt" of sorts... We put two circles of grated cheddar cheese on a cookie sheet and baked them for about 6 minutes at…

I'd want to meet Marilyn Monroe. I have been a fan since I was in my early teens, in fact I'm a fan of the whole 50's thing - I've often thought I was born in the wrong era, and I should have been a teen in the 50's, not the 80's...

Thanks for posting this. I try not to let myself be ruled by the scale, but I'm guilty of letting the numbers affect me far more than they should. I can't seem to not step on it! Even when I know that after Friday's chest/tricep workout (chest is still sore!), Saturday's leg day (yep, SORE) and Sunday's shoulders & abs…

I must find these! Anyone seen them in Canada?

I limited myself to only one order of rolls, where I used to always have two - so not much rice. I felt fine although my son told me later when I *ahem* farted that it smelled like "something rotten in the state of denmark" and I couldn't help but laugh...

Your macros are the same as mine, and I lift 4-5 times a week. If I'm hungry, I eat a bit extra, but otherwise I don't make adjustments for that. I would recommend bodybuilding.com. Its free, and its not just a bunch of big muscly people showing off - you can set up your own bodyspace there which is private unless you…

It's clear his motivation is concern for you, but perhaps it is coming from a place, like you said, where he feels kind of left out. I think my hubby feels that way a bit, too. I used to get up on weekend mornings, make my coffee, load up whatever MMORPG we were playing together and hang with him on the game, but now I…

Man how I would love to find myself in that situation some day! LOL I can't imagine eating 4000 calories! And I think I do train hard....the 1800 or so I wind up eating is maybe not enough?
-
Wow I had no idea they could do that! I will definitely ask! Thanks for this tip, @anglyn1 !

Could be one of the best spur of the moment decisions you have ever made, who knows? I hope you enjoy it!

OMG @RalfLott - too funny hahaha

My favourite is the Granville Island Lion's Winter Ale - if it is possible for a beer to taste kinda like dark chocolate, that's what this is. YUM

I find it interesting that the two main "docs" made famous by Oprah's show have both become these peddlers of sensationalism. I used to like Dr Phil when he was on Oprah's show and first started his show, but now he's like the Jerry Springer of therapy. Same for Dr Oz...

I keep an eye on calories but I don't let them rule anything. I've set my target at 1700 but if I go over, the worst that happens in MFP numbers turn red. My target is really hitting my 10% carb macro

This sounds like my son. The doc says he has ADHD - Inattentive - meaning that he is often off in his own head somewhere and just not there when you speak to him. Sometimes I have to get right in his face or snap my fingers to draw his attention before I speak, or he has no clue what I've said. He'll be aware that I'm…

We usually get mixed tempura, california rolls, dynamite rolls, tuna sashimi, and prawn sunomono and we share all of it. Looking into it, it seems to scream carbs!! I'll be going after my Saturday morning lifting session, so I will have already done my exercise for that day too.

My best friend wants to take me for lunch tomorrow to this Japanese restaurant that is something of a tradition with the two of us. I want to go, but I can't really think what I can eat there. Sashimi maybe, but all the rice in the sushi...the batter on the tempura...the sweet teriyaki sauce...its just all looming over me…

The only thing I notice sleep-wise since going keto is that I have REALLY vivid dreams. It's like watching the weirdest movies in my mind all night long, and I wake up wondering WTF???
-
I love sweet potatoes too, and I plan to add them back into my diet once I get to maintenance level. They are the one thing I REALLY miss! Yes, sweets were never my problem... it was always the potatoes, bread and pasta that didn't love me as much as I loved them.

I aim for between 30 - 40 g net carbs per day, sometimes I am under 20 and sometimes I'm closer to 50, but things have been pretty steady. I've dropped from 236 to 167 lbs so far, and still counting. I'm 5'7" and I'm aiming to see what 150 lbs looks like on me. I don't worry too much about calories...the keto calculator I…

We're totally alike on this one @RowdysLady - I have a plastic container in the fridge, a really heavy duty thick one, and I don't strain bacon grease at all. I like when those tasty little bits help season a dish. Same on the butter too - I can't STAND hard butter you have to scrape to use. No thanks! Mine stays in the…

Mine have always liked pieces of cheese rolled up inside deli meats, cut up veggies & dip (cucumber, celery, broccoli & cauliflower), hot dogs or smokies without the bun, ketchup/mustard to dip in, that sort of thing. I have two ADHD boys, and I feel your pain! My oldest actually used to drink a cup of coffee with lots of…
