  • LOL! I thought the same by the thread title and OPs pic!
  • FWIW, when I firt started MFP I lost about 5lbs in the first two weeks and then nothing. So, I read more forum posts and realized I needed to start weighin my food, weight moved again. Then it slowed down, read more posts and got my activity tracker. Realized the exercise I was logging in MFP was more in cals burned than I…
  • I have a Garmin Vivosmart HR and as stated above it's waterproof. I haven't been swimming in it yet so I don't know how well it functions underwater but for everyday life (washing dishes, washing dog, giving kids a bath) it's great not to have to worry about getting it wet.
  • @agile_05 Welcome to MFP and the group! Well, ladies I am taking my pale Canadian flesh out today to buy a new bikini. Please wish me luck bc those change room lights are horrid. I'm not at my goal weight but I always wear a bikini bc: it feels so much better, easier to get something that fits (curvy girl problems), I…
  • Mine is open to friends - add me. I like to see what other people eat too. Provides inspiration when I get bored of what I eat. :)
  • Ok, we are missing out here in Canada. I have never seen a chocolate one - I'll have to check out a Polish bakery next time I'm in Toronto. I ate a raspberry one last night. Worth every single calorie.
  • @indygirl217 : Paczki's!!!!! I had one last night for dessert. Worth every calorie. It's the only decent doughnut you can get here - the kind at our "national" coffee shop are cakey. I will be having another one tonight and then there will be a ban. :) My thoughts exactly Shy! Good luck to anyone observing Lent. I did it…
  • I love hummus too! You've got to sprinkle a little sumac on top - that's the secret ingredient! Also, a little tip, if you cream your tahini in the processor with some lemon juice before adding chickpeas then it's creamier.
  • I have never seen chocolate! My hubby loves prune and swears it's better than it sounds but I haven't seen it here. Lemon and raspberry are my faves. I'd better get an extra workout in to eat this delicious goodness! Your restraint is superhuman. I really don't think I could just eat half. :)
  • You haven't heard of it? We have it here in Canada too (at least, popular in Ontario), otherwise known as Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Pancake Tuesday. The schools usually have a pancake lunch today for the kids. They are really good with a smear of homemade strawberry jam.
  • I'm doomed! We have them here in Canada too. They seem to be the only 'real' doughnut you can buy without going to a specialty bakery. They are sooooo awesome. What's your favourite kind?
  • @CariTJR You are killing it with the running! I admire that. I'm not a runner but my sister is so I hear from her about it all the time. I really dislike being out in the wind, it makes my face hurt! Lol keep up the good work!
  • @bluepoppies777 Sounds like a fun trip! Don't worry about it, enjoy all that Baileys and good food with the snow and fresh air! @Rachel0778 Happy belated Birthday! Sorry it was a mix of good and not so good. Super Bowl isn't a thing in my family as we don't have live tv but from what I hear from y'all it sounds like a good…
  • It depends on how you use it. The more you log workouts and use smartphone notifications the less it will last obviously. I think I charge mine about every four or five days. I don't use it to get phone notifications but I do use it for lengthy workouts. I usually check the battery life when I think about it after my…
  • Just to add, it's not the most stylish but it is super comfortable I wear it 24/7 and only take off to charge. I wear it during yoga and it doesn't bother me at all, even when my arms are underneath me in Locust or Fish. I have the purple one and it's more like a dark purplish grey - pretty unisex. Feel free to ask me more…
  • I have a Vivosmart HR and love it. I ultimately chose it bc I have a severe nickel allergy and the band didn't look like it had metal on it unlike Jawbone and Fitbit. I haven't reacted to it, not sure what the buckle is made of. Also it's waterproof - swimable not just resistant. There have been a few software issues bc it…
  • You can add me too! Zenjen13
  • My Garmin Vivosmart tracks steps, logs activities (run, cardio, other), flights of stairs and activity minutes (goal being 150/week of intermediate to intense based on HR). Each has its own goal and rewards you when you reach it. I think this new fitness technology is a great motivator for a lot of people. It even told me…
  • @ShyCush6 That Zumba story is hilarious! Omg, I could never drink before exercise or I would do the technicolour yawn too! So, pizza happened last night bc hubby was working late and we had piano recitals to go to. I went way over my cals but I don't care! >:) Lol also, lost another .6 lbs which brings me up I about 1.5…
  • I'm going to be losing my streak later his month while on vacation (no internet or cell). It kind of sucks, I feel your pain. I'll lose my 90+ days but I'm thinking of it as a new MFP beginning since it took me so long to really get with the program, so to speak.
  • Exactly, you have to start somewhere. I did find that MFP estimate of my calories burned was actually double of what I actually burn so I think that's where some peoples concern is. But, you are moving more and tracking your food which is great! Keep it up!
  • I eat at 1200 calories without exercise. I use a fitness band to track anything I burn over this sedentary figure and I mostly eat back my calories depending on the day and how hungry I am. So, with exercise I can be eating anywhere from 1400-1800 cals. I don't feel like 1200 is too low for me or unsustainable. I don't…
  • And gas.

  • Don't forget about Costco online too! Got my elliptical and fitness band online!

  • Welcome! Feel free to add me as a friend too! Are you logging and weighing your food? That's the first and most important step. What do you mean by clean eating? This group is so supportive - you'll love it.
  • Woo hoo! I lost .5 lbs this week without an y exercise. I'm celebrating alongside you. I'm finally feeling better today so I'm doing an elliptical and a dog walk later on.
  • Funny, if anything I find it tends to under report for me. I've been up and down the stairs a few times today but it says 0. I'm way better with it under reporting than over. I know they still have issues with stairs and activity minutes - these issues haven't been solved yet.
  • Yes, I think you need to look at what your activity level is and height/weight stats - that could be where the problem lies. Also, enable negative calories too. But OP has a VivoSmart HR so it is pretty accurate as it reads heart rate. I find mine is WAY more accurate than MFP for calories burned. I don't suggest entering…
  • @GillianSmith2 : That's our little Boston Terrier! She's the best dog in the whole world (SorryNotSorry dog owners). :) @CariTJR : I love making pizza alternatives! We use lebanese pitas for the base bc they are only 90 calories and HUGE! I haven't been able to bring myself to buy low fat cheese (abomination!) but I really…
  • I make my own seitan too and freeze it. I like TVP but the gas.....oh my! I use nutritional yeast in my seitan which gives extra vitamins and umami. We used to be vegetarian and discovered it's WAY cheaper to make your own and much healthier.
