  • I was 37 weeks yesterday, and I won't go past 39 because of some issues that I won't bore you with. Anyway, the baby is HUGE but I haven't gained more than 5 lbs this pregnancy because of illness. And because of already being fat I'm sure. I'm ready to start seeing some baby pix of those who have delivered already!
  • I have a BA in Business Education which allows me to teach business classes to grades 7 - 12 (or 5 or 6 - 12 depending on the state). I chose it because I loved all of my business classes, loved working in the business world, and wanted to give my students some useful skills so they could get better jobs post-high school.…
  • Great job! You sound very motivated! I'm the mom of many. My kids are 18, 16, 14, 12 (in heaven), 11, 2 and one due in a few weeks. I also have 3 stepkids who are 16, 16, and 13. My husband works out of state, so 2/3 of the time, I do this on my own. Thankfully, I work from home and have summers off, as I'm a teacher. My…
  • I'm here! Feel free to add me, though I won't start losing weight again until later this week, as I'm scheduled to have my baby on 7/23 of this month. :) It's a boy, #7, (boy #3) and I have LOTS to lose once he's out.
  • Maybe you should have a frank discussion with hubby about what it takes to be a good lover. Jiggling areas you already feel bad about is not going to help you get in the mood. Seriously. Who does that? I would think that your being self-conscious is more his fault than anything else. Or perhaps he jiggles them because he…
  • Yesterday. I'm preggers and if I can eat something that doesn't make me barf, I'm gonna eat it no matter what it is. :)
  • Just do things that help keep you as happy as possible while you are going through withdrawals, and cut yourself some slack if you slip up, whether with food or ciggies. You can do it!!!
  • My last one turned at 38.5 weeks. It wasn't overly comfortable when she did it, but not incredibly uncomfortable either. She did it while I was lying in bed on my side. Best wishes!
  • I'm 5'6", was 243 at the beginning of the pregnancy, and am now 250.2. This is my 7th full pregnancy (also had a miscarriage). I could tell the difference quite early. Maybe 12 weeks. But nobody else was able to tell I was pregnant until I was about 28 - 30 weeks. Now, at 32 weeks, there is no mistaking that I'm knocked up…
  • Crap. That isn't what I wanted to hear. I thought it was just me who had a hard time working past it and not trusting and that if I worked at it hard enough, I would. Or I at least wouldn't care anymore! Yargh. Anyway...original poster...atta girl. :) Have a happy and healthy life!
  • I'm low-carbing because my blood sugar is high (pregnant) and it isn't easy! I feel for you! Sounds like you are motivated, though, and I know you're going to do great!
  • I'm also a teacher, though I now teach online, so I mostly work from my "office," otherwise known as "my bed." :)
  • My midwife said I can eat refined food to the tune of about 2 slices of bread a day. I do well most days. Today was NOT one of those days.
  • A pancake with butter and molasses. Don't judge me. I'm preggers. ;)
  • I don't think that one day under calories will hurt, as long as overall you are doing a good job. :)
  • Thanks for all the great advice! I bought whatever was cheapest at Walmart. My problem with a low-carb, no refined food, higher-protein diet is that it is making me sick sick sick! The morning sickness that has blessedly been gone for the last 10 weeks or so is back with a vengeance eating like this, even though it's…
  • Okay...I just picked up something from Walmart. :) Here's hoping it's nummy!!
  • I sneak in a daily trip to Starbucks for a small (though they call it tall) coffee with cream with no sweetener. Mmmmmmmmm
  • I went to Great Harvest Bread Company yesterday so I could feed my morning toast craving. I got the 100% whole grain bread with seeds, nuts, etc. I'm assuming that is a good carb? I had it with real butter. Then for lunch, 2 roast beef slices with cream cheese rolled up in them (yes, weird but yummy) and a very small…
  • Agree. I can't change how many calories I take in and exercise alone. I have to change what I eat as well. I envy those people who can eat 1400 calories worth of fast food per day and still lose. Part of the unjustness of life. :)
  • It's not okay with her to be such close friends with a man who isn't her husband. She shouldn't be "hanging out" with you at all, nor her other male friends, unless her husband is there. Seriously. What are y'all thinking?
  • Thanks, girls. I really do need to get this under control with how big the baby is, even without GD. It's kind of ironic to me that I'm having this issue with the only pregnancy I've ever bothered to control my gain. :)
  • With my first I wasn't really overweight and started to show around 5-6 months. With this one, many babies later, I am 30 weeks and still just look fat to others, though to me my stomach looks HUGE. I can tell that people at church want to ask if I'm pregnant, but are worried that I've just put on more weight so don't say…
  • My dad and I both have pretty severe sciatic pain. I'm not sure how his was diagnosed, but with mine the doctor just knew what it was because it was originally brought on by pregnancy.
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sounds like it will happen soon, at any rate! How exciting! Best wishes for your delivery and beyond!
  • I forgot to talk about breastfeeding. I had a very difficult time breastfeeding my first baby, but the second went much better! I was able to bf the second until she was 8 months old, at which point my milk dried up due to a third pregnancy. Babies 3 and 4 never once had bottles! I bf #3 until 18 months and #4 until 13…
  • Awwwww bless your hearts! It WILL work out because there is no other choice, but sometimes it doesn't seem that way! I have a friend in Colorado who didn't have anyone to watch her 20 month old daughter when her baby was born, and she just brought a port-a-crib to the hospital and kept her there! Nobody said a word about…
  • I'm giving birth to #7 in July. After #3, I didn't "bounce back," and each subsequent baby made it worse. But hey! We'll see how it goes this time.
  • 28 weeks yesterday, and my scale broke last week. I keep forgetting to replace it whenever I'm out! Probably because I'm afraid of what it will say!
