  • I've lost 91.5 lbs since January 1st 2016. I'm so proud of us all, lots of great achievements in this thread!
  • One of the biggest things I learned from MFP was just how much I was lying to myself. "Oh, I can eat this piece of pie...I've eaten well for the last three whole meals!" Except, A: I probably didn't eat well for those meals and B: three meals?! Like that's any sort of track record. Anyway, it was really hard to face and…
  • Trader Joe's 3 Cheese crisps have been my go-to as late. http://www.traderjoes.com/digin/post/3-cheese-wafers Only 60 calories for 33 of the things. 33!
  • Yea, what I keep telling myself is that I have to make the right decision each and every single time. I don't, and that's okay, as long as I do 99% of the time...and the only way I do that is by telling myself I must do it all the time.
  • It probably took about a month to get used to the first calorie limit MFP set for me (1800), as it decreased thankfully it was a bit quicker for me to get used to. It's crazy how much my stomach has literally shrunk. The other day I tried eating this massive breakfast burrito thing that I used to eat all the time in my…
  • I love new friends! Old friends are great too, but new friends seem to be the best way to make old friends ;) I'm Rachel, I'm days away from my first anniversary here with MFP and I'm also hopefully just days away from 120lbs loss. (Currently at 117lbs loss). My goal is another 15lbs down, and from what I can tell it's…
  • I definitely adore MFP. I saw such great success in several of my friends before I joined which was truly inspiring. So, I joined, and here I am just days away from my first anniversary and I've lost 117 lbs...and only have like 12 lbs to go before I hit my goal weight. As someone who never lost weight before, I was too…
  • This is the first year since I was 12 that I picked a Halloween costume that I didn't completely hide in. I usually opted for mascot-style animals where no one would see any part of me because I was ashamed to be so big. But this year? I'm Velma, and I think a friggin' cute one at that
  • 1200 calories with an open diary here, I always welcome new friends! 115 lbs down, another 15 lbs or so to go and from what I can tell that'll take as long as the first 100, lol, so I'll be at it for a while longer for sure.
  • 120g of cottage cheese or yogurt. Bam, breakfast. Need more calories? Add some fruit and/or pb2.
  • In the past 2 weeks I've had pancakes for breakfast/lunch 5 times. I think I've barely squeezed them into my calories, but damn yo, I gotta stop this trend. The sugar alone makes me feel a wee bit funny afterward.
  • I buy super fancy vinegars and just use those. The Olive Mill Stores has a great selection. I especially like the white peach balsamic and the serrano chili honey balsamic vinegar. They're like 15-30 calories per serving.
  • I log it. It keeps me in the habit of logging everything that goes in my mouth, plus it's a good way to gauge my caffeine intake.
  • Slather enough of it on and you might gain an ounce or two.
  • The best vegetables are those in season! Or at least, I tend to think they taste the best.
  • 275 lbs was mine! I had my wakeup call last year and have since gotten down 115lbs, but I still have 20 left to go and from what I can tell, that might take as long as the first 100. I always welcome new friends
  • Hey we have very similar goals for our end of year! I've lost 115 lbs so far but I have about 20 lbs left to go, and I'd really love it if I managed to reach my goal by the end of the year. I always welcome new friends!
  • Heck yea, you have done amazing! You should be so proud of yourself!!!
  • Just remind yourself: the skin doesn't actually look any better when it's taut and filled with fat. And it can serve as a reminder of the bad habits you don't want to repeat.
  • I've only seen the option on the mobile apps, where basically you tell the system you want to post a "progress photo" and then you can upload whatever pic you want as today's pic.
  • Last night someone denied my identification when I tried to buy a drink. As someone in her 30s it was a bit frustrating to be treated like some 20yo kid again, but it was still a bit of a moment of pride. I got a new ID in the Summer of 2015 when I weighed 120lbs more and my hair was a different shade and like a foot…
  • The incline! Nice!! That's a goal of mine for next Spring, I wasn't quite able to make it down to Manitou this summer/fall. You have done amazing with your progress, you should be so proud of yourself!!
  • Amazing job, that's quite the loss!
  • Yea, I love new friends! I'm just about to hit my one year anniversary with MFP and trying to lose weight. As of this morning I'm down 117lbs but I still have 15 lbs left to go, and from what I gather that's going to take me a good long minute. Plus then there's maintenance so I'm not going anywhere. Add me!
  • When I started MFP one of the biggest things I had to learn to accept was how much I was lying...to myself. It was so easy for me to pretend I hadn't eaten all that bad recently, because I had a whole meal and a snack that was okay, and thus I deserved a treat. Those treats would add up and were the reason why I was fat in…
  • Needlessly strict calorie restricting like a sub-1000 calorie diet is more likely to leave you with health issues due to lack of nutrition, but more importantly it's more likely to leave you feeling irritable, insatiated and unhappy. You're more likely to get frustrated, give up, binge and quit than if you go for something…
  • Thanks y'all! Getting out and hiking, biking and otherwise exploring the great place I live in definitely has helped
  • Aww, you guys are so sweet! <3 My biggest tip is just to try to make the right choices each and every single meal. Sometimes you'll go off diet and you log those and move on, but you have to try every time you put food to your mouth. It's hard :/
  • Another issue I've found with trying more extreme calorie-cutting is that you set yourself up for more hunger, more frustration, and a higher chance of giving up. It's better to miss out on 200 calories a day if that's sustainable for you than to try to cut out 500 calories a day only to find after a week that you're…
