  • Ok so this is weird...It's the techno-tard lorrainequiche59 aka @domesticlydiva. I have no idea how this happened. I went to come on MFP and it asked me to sign in (so annoying that it does this on a regular basis) AND somehow I am in on an old account. The reason I began a new account ages ago was because I couldn't get…
  • Didn't want to take the time to read ALL the comments, so I hope this isn't a repeat; but, wondering if it could be a hormonal eg. thyroid issue. Easy enough to find out by a visit to your GP for some blood tests. I also agree with the above comment that weight loss is NOT about exercise, it is about food intake. Exercise…
  • Hi I tried to send you a message but there was a "server error" whatever that means. If you'd like to be friends please send me a request. I also need encouragement...maybe we can help each other.
  • I'm puzzled about the first comment re: handicapped bathroom stalls. What exactly does that have to do with the topic being discussed. I haven't gotten to my goal...but was intrigued by the topic. Interesting how others can have such a negative reaction to such a positive change such as getting healthier. It certainly is…
  • Please do not give up. You've done it before & will again. All the above is good advice & I have nothing to add. I am disappointed in myself also because I regained lost weight, but remember you are worth it. You and I both deserve to be healthy. SO, get back up & dust yourself off. Today is a new day....my goal is to…
  • Perhaps a family history of being overweight is largely due to bad eating habits that have been passed on from one generation to another as opposed to being "genetically" predisposed. Not saying that genes don't play a role, but the amount of obese & morbidly obese people today is likely the result of countless…
  • From what I understand from "experts" who have written numerous articles about weight loss, losing weight is the result of a series of lifestyle changes that have to be maintained to keep the weight off. If a person is just out to take the weight off using drastic, unrealistic, unsustainable measures such as is the case…
  • Shakiness could be low blood sugar. Are you eating enough? If you are drastically cutting calories it could send your blood sugar level crashing especially if you aren't eating enough protein to carry you from one meal to the next...just a thought.
  • Did you take your measurements when you began your exercise program? Muscle weighs heavier than fat as you likely know. The scale isn't always the best measurement of weight loss...you could be building muscle therefore shrinking...the loss will be reflected at some point.
  • I tried sending you a message but there was a "server error" apparently, so here I am. Yes, I definitely would be interested in supporting each other. I too have 90 lbs to lose & have started, restarted, lost weight & gained it back....but, this time I think I'm in for the long haul with some new found motivation in a…
  • Sensibly restricting calories not ridiculously restricting calories. 800 calories is not healthy. That's just common sense. I agree with everyone who mentioned focusing on eating nutrionally dense foods in the proper portion. AS far as depression & "not feeling comfortable in your own skin," sounds like something else…
  • My trainer advised carb, protein, fat combo at every meal & snack...portion control obviously & no more than 8 gm of sugar per meal/snack up to a max of 40 gm daily. Easy-peasy!! Really watch fruit portions esp. grapes, banana, pineapple...high sugar content. It's a balanced eating plan that is doable. To each his own…
  • Hi....Welcome to the 1st day of the rest of your life of better health. There is never a better time to start than TODAY!! I too have a personal trainer (1st time ever) who is helping me nutritionally also. Her advice to me was to make sure I eat a carb/protein/fat combo for every meal AND snacks, focusing on clean foods…
  • Hi there: I'm in the same boat. I've been back for a few days now & feeling quite motivated....I know it will fade in & out, but my goal is to keep on tracking & reaching out for support from others in the same mindset. Perhaps we could support each other. Have a GREAT day!! :)
  • So it is 11 days into November...how are y'all doing on the no alcohol front? Is it harder or easier than you expected?
  • I'm IN!! I had decided to give up alcohol temporarily when I hired a personal trainer at the beginning of the month. I have a wedding to attend on Dec 3 & will imbibe then, but for the month of November my goal is to abstain, so sign me up. I need all the help I can get.
  • Just an FYI...too much of a good thing isn't always good & believe it or not you can drink too much water. It can actually make you ill because if you drink TOO much it will deplete your body of minerals. SO, be careful you don't go overboard. I agree that the colour of your urine will indicate if you are getting enough.…
  • I'm not sure how to add friends. I'm a bit of a techno-tard so any helpful hints would be appreciated. Thx
