Oh my god, yes. Mine too. Almost all of her recipes say that (or variations with chicken fat and beef fat). I remember being a little kid and seeing all those mason jars on the counter or in the fridge. Also, I inherited her big box of recipes, and I swear, aside from the old old family recipes written in Italian and…

I tried chocolate covered bacon once at this local confectionary shop, but it was a little too intense for me. That being said, we have this restaurant in town called Nosh, and they sometimes do a dessert of maple ice cream with little nibs of chocolate covered bacon sprinkled on top. That was pretty tasty, so I think I…

Two nights ago, after I had showed him this thread, we both had a laugh and he put them in this really high cupboard that I'll never be able to reach without a step-ladder (which we don't have, thankfully) lol. He also said that's where he's going to start keeping his t-shirts that I keep wearing. :D ;)

Your story is so inspiring! Thank you :) :)

If he ever brought these home, we would never have a problem - this looks disgusting!

Sounds amazing! I had to Google Randonneuring, lol, but from what I read that sounds like an absolute blast! Your experience is very inspiring. May I ask how you got started? My fiancé and I are both noticing that money is a significant factor holding us back.

Hahaha. Absolutely the first thing I'll do when he gets home today. No segue, just "Oreo's will make you a Limpy Larry. Just saying."

I cannot tell a lie - I effing LOVE Jello. I'm a huge proponent of clean eating, but seriously, Jello holds such nostalgia for me as an after-school snack when I was a kid. I haven't had it in a long time, but now I want to run down to the store and buy a box of strawberry jello and slice peaches and bananas into it just…

He put them up on this really high shelf last night, which is perfect, because I'm really short and we don't have a step-ladder. :)

Congrats on your sobriety and your healthy weight loss! Way to rock that! I have no solution, just encouragement. Hang in there. Continue to accept yourself as you are, and embrace all the positive changes you've made. You do you. Much love for you hard work. <3

I've got The Origin Mystery series set aside to read on my Bermuda cruise in a couple months - starting with The Atlantis Gene. Currently finishing up Abduction, by Dr. John E Mack, as well as The Disclosure Project, by Dr. Steven Greer. I just bought Spiritual AF by J.P. Sears, which is going to be a hilarious read.…

It is making it so hard to work out the way I want to, or even go for a date-night stroll on the beach with my guy! I have to stick to low-impact stuff. So sorry you're dealing with similar stuff! I feel you!

Nice, I'll have to give Freshly a try if I can find a discount trial voucher. Groupon has one for a service called Pantry Boy which looks cool. I bought the voucher for $25, and we're trying that one next month.

What kind of trainer do you use? I've been shopping around for one. I have a friend that uses rollers, but I live on the second floor of an apartment building, with a family underneath me who are NOT likely to appreciate the noise from the rollers. LOL.

I work out at home mostly, but sometimes I need the gym. Even when I'm not at the gym with a buddy, there's still a collective sense of motivation and hard work that I can feed off of, and I especially use the gym when I get into cycles of weight training. I don't get that opportunity at home, so I tend to use…

I bought some Vega Protein to put in my smoothies. Bought the berry flavor because I figured that would jive with the actual fruit I put in. Nooooope. Lol. She's a bit rough on the ol' palate. I love your idea of the Vega chocolate with the banana and cold brew though! That sounds amazing.

Looks like this thread has our first Bigfoot sighting. ;)

I've heard some really cool theories about the human "soul" and how it relates to what we believe are sentient beings. One in particular suggests that the soul evolves into a higher state of consciousness of light and energy vibrations that people interpret as angels or multi-dimensional beings. Time and space cease to…

Currently doing another round of Whole30. The first time I did it, I followed it exactly, having read the book. I've also done the first 30 days a few times just to reset my mental and behavioral patterns relating to food. That is what I'm doing now, once again, to "reset" myself back on track. I enjoy the structure,…

I showed him the gif of the Raisin Bran box, he thought that was awesome!

LOL. He'd love that idea. :D

Ok, umm....Eric Roberts from Inferno by Dante, who was also in the tv show Brooklyn Nine Nine briefly.

Travolta has a Bacon Factor of 2. I guess that was pretty easy lol.
-
That's awesome! I don't maintain it long term either, I just use it as a bit of a detox. Someone had posted earlier about it not being a true detox, which I totally agree with, but mentally and behaviorally it serves as a detox from some bad habits around food choices/eating patterns. I like structure, so it serves that…

Look Who's Talking - John Travolta also in Grease

I look at the scale a few days later and go, "Yuuuup." :D

Or sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and the cookie has to die. But seriously, I understand exactly what you're saying, and this isn't my first time at the thought-emotion-response cognitive behavioral rodeo. I don't mind sharing my fallibility with others, and don't mind being called out. I've actually enjoyed…

It was very much tongue-in-cheek. SezxyStef- You've never had a moment in your life where you notice yourself having a reaction to something that you know is irrational, it makes you laugh, and you want to share your "human-ness" with others?

LOL. Mic drop.
