Welcome to the group! Your surgery is right around the corner and I can assure you that you will be glad you decided to take this route! Some people think it’s the easy way out but as any of us can tell you, it most certainly isn’t. I have lost about 70 lbs and had bypass 2 years ago. I had lost about 86 lbs but Re-gained…

@JamesAztec you truly are an inspiration, thank you for sharing your story and your insights! Good luck with the marathon - I know you will finish with good time to boot! :)
-
I would agree with what @JamesAztec said. I will say that I do still enjoy pizza and stuff like that - before I started my process I told my surgeon I wouldn’t want to be unable to eat pizza, have a cookie, etc and he said that I will still be able to enjoy them but not immediately after surgery and I would be able to eat…

Welcome! I had gastric bypass 4/18/16. I’ll add you as well. Someone had a post recently about a stall. I included a few websites that were really helpful, so check that out. Otherwise I have to remember to send it after I am done working :)
-
@rll22 you absolutely can do this! Have you met with any nutritionists to give you guidance as to what they think your daily calories and macros should be? Here’s some good websites that you may find helpful from a product, content and recipe perspective: Bariatric Eating The World According to Eggface Bariatric Foodie…

@AngieViolet I went to Lifetime Fitness in Waverly and they did a resting metabolic assessment and nutrition overhaul. I was eating way too few calories. It may be worth looking into. Since we are pretty much neighbors wanna have a gym date? We can put you on a guest pass. Let me know. :)

@anubile1967 you look fantastic! Agree this isn’t the easy way out, and fortunately we have each other for support on the way!
-
Thank you @loveshoe! We are all human and we all make mistakes. I’m grateful for such an awesome support system!
-
@elle77belle thank you! MoSt definitely not an easy thing!! Just gotta keep chugging along :)
-
@StevenGarrigus thank you! I agree that it’s an every day accountability thing. Sometimes we fall off the wagon, and that’s ok. One thing I think is so critical is that when we fall off the wagon we are aware of it and correct it as soon as possible. The way I see it we can start fixing things with the next meal. We are…

Amazing what a difference 2 years makes...
-
Thanks @Samquentin!
-
@BelindaKinMinn how did surgery go? Where in NC are you? We are outside of Charlotte in Waxhaw. Hope you are feeling good!
-
I am and have been where @StevenGarrigus was. I kept my surgery to myself with the exception of a good number of people and to this day, some people don’t know. It’s definitely not the easy way because like @StevenGarrigus I also have been struggling with some weight gain and working on knocking off 15-20 lbs. I know I…

At least we are all in good company and that this is fairly normal. I will take a page out of @JamesAztec’s book and try to eat minimally processed or not processed foods. Been making sure that I am staying super hydrated too. Unfortunately my stress levels aren’t lessening due to bs at work and my 11 year old who has been…

I’ll be 2 years post op on 4/18. Went on spring break to Nashville last week and while we indulged some, we walked a lot and cooked our dinners at the cottage we stayed in. Today I went to the gym and my trainer made me weigh in which he never had me do. I hadn’t weighed for the last 2 Saturday’s and I was floored when I…

Am sure you will have it off in no time and Line others have said previously it’s likely a lot of water weight. I do like the idea of carrying pictures with you to remind you of how far you’ve come!
-
@CatchMom13 thanks! Will look into that tape - going to an ortho next week and I may be getting a steroid shot. Steroid pills didn’t do anything, and anxious about it
-
@anbrdr thanks for this..will look at that site today. How have you been Tony?
-
@loveshoe I use a Wacoal underwire bra thT I got online at Athleta...performance underwire bra. I have every color
-
@takuwinds I feel your pain - I am the first one up and last one home yet I am the one who takes care of pretty much everything. Dealing with a migraine today so not gonna lie - just had a piece of a zucchini loaf cake - not good but I will adjust my eating and exercise for the rest of the week to compensate. I sleep in my…

@Ultima_Morpha what is DDP? I will definitely keep things as pain free as possible. Right now the only pain I have is my bursitis in my hip which has been flared up for a couple of months so I think it’s a good sign. I think the treadmill interval I did for 35 mins had 8-10 mins of running which is huge for me. It starts…
-
@fit_chickx Happy New Year! Thank you for your kind words and I will look into that as well! I have always worked out but I had runners envy but was always afraid to start and didn’t know how to. The treadmill at the new gym forced it. In fact, yesterday my husband and I went to the gym and walked out of a class because it…
-
@Samquentin @Aztec4Life thanks for this! Am still a little sore but I did spin yesterday and scheduled for a spin class tomorrow morning. I may try to run for a few mins on the treadmill before spin or maybe Sunday before the barbell class my husband and I are taking. Will be interesting to see if I keep running, but right…
-
@Samquentin that’s awesome for you...the treadmill yesterday had me walking at 3.7 and running at 5.2. It was anywhere from 6-10 mins total. What app are you using?
-
This is awesome info - thanks @Ultima_Morpha - gotta learn how to properly work the treadmill in case I need to slow down. :)

Agree with what everyone here has said. I am a little over a year and a half post op..down about 74 lbs but been playing with 12-14 lbs since March. Have had my fair share of health issues including vertigo since July which hasn’t fully subsided so I understand what @2bbetteremma is going through. I would recommend loading…
-
I’m also in the same place - down about 74 lbs but been playing with 12-14 or so pounds since March. It’s hard to see myself at my current weight and look - I still see the very overweight person I always was so it’s something I am working on. It’s also hard when people always tell you how good you look and that you are…
-
I agree with all of you guys - I am about a year and eight months out. I had some travel which threw me off a bit and was battling a twelve pound gain. One thing that I did before surgery and continue to do after surgery is that I keep going to weekly weight watchers meetings. Having something to look forward to every week…

Also, consider pre-making foods you can eat for the puréed stage and putting them in the freezer so you don’t have to worry about what to cook. I like the ricotta bake from The World According To Eggface and made several soups from Skinnytaste which I puréed. Bariatric Eating has a great vanilla custard as well, and…
