  • @ssflbelle2012 I had my gastric bypass 4/18/16. High weight 239.6, low weight 152, current 205. Been having regain for the last 2 1/2 years. Also had a couple of surgeries and dealing with my daughter’s eating disorders and multiple moves including out of state. I recently found a support group called The T.R.I.B.E. By…
  • @nyfamilyfarm thanks so much for your kind words. We are originally from Westchester County in NY and have been living just outside of Charlotte for 8 1/2 years. Relocating to Hooksett, NH which is about an hour from Boston; my daughter has a lesser known eating disorder called ARFID that no one here knows how to treat and…
  • The World According to Eggfqce has a great ricotta bake which is able to be eaten in the puréed stage. Also Bariatric Eating has an entire section just for the recipes and some are really good and you can search by purées too. Good luck!
  • Our family is driving to NH and ME this weekend and staying for a week or so. Need to find a short term apartment while our house gets built. Bringing 2 of our dogs and plan to get to the beach for a walk and check out some trails. I plan to take advantage to what will be a great way to get out and get active. Grateful my…
  • I have been doing this Peloton arms program - 3 10 min arm workouts a week over 6 weeks, and I am considering doing this thing called Pelofondo in April which is where a group of riders rode 35-120 miles over the weekend. I feel like it can be motivation for me. At the end of March we are driving to NH to see if our house…
  • I initially wasn’t hungry but after a while I didn’t feel like it was working. Spoke to my doc about it and he said to stay on it because it may be helping more than I realize because I am y fee huge amounts of stress and not making the greatest food choices since I had some life stuff we were forced to eat out more…
  • @NicoleL874 Happy 5 year surgeversary! You have been through a lot - that’s for sure but you are doing so awesome! Can’t believe my 5 years is coming up in April - time truly does fly and it’s amazing the highs and lows we go through, isn’t it?
  • @buxombrunette Thank you for letting me know. My iron is still low and copper is still high per repeat bloodwork I had done last week. Right now my doctor is having me take prescription iron plus c twice a day in addition to prescription zinc sulfate twice a day. I have to repeat my labs the first week of December. Fingers…
  • I did that the other day! The zinc made my stomach a mess the first 2 days but has been okay since. I have it pretty well spaced out. Have to take zinc and iron 2 hours apart from each other and I can take either 1 hour before or at least 2 hours after eating...so makes for a fun balance..lol
  • That’s good to know..I never heard of Barilife powders. I saw him today and had bloodwork done. If my iron is still low I am going to need to start getting iron infusions because I have been started on iron (prescription) plus vit c twice a day though it’s been hard getting the second dose hit somewhat better now that I…
  • @suegreg2 thank you - I don’t have the appointments for a few weeks with the nutritionist but my Bariatric doc gave me no indication, but he put me on medication to curb my appetite and it is working but I need to know how much I should be eating in terms of both calories and macros. I am very active too so I want to…
  • When I weigh at WW or the doc I try not to eat or drink beforehand and wear as light weight clothing as possible. At home I weigh early before I eat anything and don’t wear anything since I typically weigh before going in the shower
  • Been there and working in getting the regain off as we speak. Will send you an email... but gained 35 lbs of the 88 I lost back. A lot was due to circumstances and I had to move back to NY temporarily last year — about a month, plus tons of work stress and my eating habits went back to what they were for the most part.…
  • @loveshoe I am so sorry for your loss! You are so right about thinking that regain wouldn’t happen to you. I thought the same thing and my surgical team thought I was the model patient because I always meal prepped and worked out...boy were they wrong! I also am back to basics but went back to the Bariatric doc last week…
  • @tamikawoodson wjat has your doctor said? I went back to a Bariatric doc last week and waiting to meet with the nutritionist. I work out a lot and my issue is macros and calories - no idea what they should look like now
  • Thank you - I hope so too! Good luck to you as well @tamikawoodson

  • 46 year old female Gastric bypass 4/18/16 HW: 239.6 SW: 20 Lowest weight: 152 Current weight: 190.2 Never in a million years would I have thought I would have this amount of regain. In another post I shared my story...it has been a really brutal 12-18 months for my daughter and I with health issues. Now COVID is making…
  • I have been gone for a while, but my husband decided he needs to lose weight. While he isn’t looking at WLS he did ask the doc for phentermine which I was on pre-op. I asked my doc to put me on it too and we ordered a bunch of Bariatric products I used pre-op and immediately post op. I regained about 40 of the 88 lbs I…
  • Hey all! I also need to be better on weekends! Haven’t gotten an “official” weight at my WW meeting since just before we went to NY on spring break..NY is home so lots of friends and family and food. I plan to weigh in this Saturday. I have been stressed/depressed because my work situation hasn’t changed and it’s wearing…
  • I have found that like @garber6th weekends are hard for me. During the week at work, it is so much easier to stay on point. I am trying to track on the weekends. I do a lot of meal prep on Sundays, however, we are going back home to NY for a visit next week so fortunately I have a lot of food previously prepped and frozen…
  • @NicoleL874 doing okay - the Inspire Diet has been tough to follow to a tee, but doing ok. I bought the Cacktacki bottle which is so helpful for water tracking. It’s definitely helped. Did a decent workout this morning and try to be active daily but missed the last 3 days which isn’t like me but going through work…
  • This is awesome! I need to be more active in everything. This week I am really trying to re-focus. My exercise has been good and varied. I have the Peloton so it’s in my house and I get a lot of variety. My eating got out of control. I am going to try and follow the Bariatric Eating Inspire Diet to help me at least focus.…
  • Also dealing with regain. Trying to fight off 25-30 lbs. I let the slider foods in and really need to get back on track. I am focusing on what has kept off, and getting back to basics to a degree. Trying to make exercise a priority too. I have always worked out but got a Peloton so I have no excuses . We can all do this.
  • Congrats on your surgery and agree with what everyone else says. I use so many websites for meal ideas and happy to share if you would like. Here are a few to get you started - some healthy and others not specifically so but you can put into portion controlled containers Skinnytaste Mel’s Kitchen Cafe Emily Bites Damn…
  • Welcome! Like many others I also have been working on knocking off the regain. I am almost 3 years post op (4-18-16), and over the past 2 years am up about 23 lbs. I have quite frankly been battling a little bit of depression, and my job can be either really stressful or really boring - depends on the day really. MFP has…
  • @KarlaYP I LOVE this! Often times we focus on any gains we have versus how far we have come. I am working on that personally. I am going to also keep the word endure in my mind
  • This is so awesome! I think as a post op nailing into people’s heads that it’s really easy to revert back to old ways and to really be in tune with your body.
  • I also have been dealing with some regain. Had my gastric bypass 4/18/16 and since March 2017 I am up 23 lbs. I have had a ton of stress and had a breakdown in my doctors office and while my doctor is a keto follower, I am not sure it would be right for me. He gets where I am, and he said that it’s obvious I am educated on…
  • Ok that’s good feedback to know! Check out my friend Jude’s company - he has a whey protein isolate and theirs is clean. I think I sent you a sample a while back. If you order through this link we will both get $20 off…
  • Biotin and collagen are what I take to help with that
