It is fine either way you do it. You may find you have more energy to work out if you eat something 1 hour prior to workout. J

I pretty much eat anything I want. I just carefully weigh everything and keep the total calories consumed less than calories burned. It's just that simple!

I have been having a similar dilemma. I have lost 75 pounds and have 10 to go. The last 10 have been brutile. I even started gaining at one point. Let's face it, our bodies get used to what we are doing. We have to shake things up once in a while. I was eating too few calories. I started eating a little more and now the…

Wow, I'm wondering, did the loose skin tighten up? How long did it take. I have some loose skin but not that much. J

When I used the calipers, I measured liberally. Actual measurements gave me 13%. I measured again for more liberal and still by 18%.

okay so here is the deal. I took all the advice I read here and decided to try the body fat % route. I first tried calculating body fat with the measuring tape method and turned out to be 27% Then I tried calculating body fat with calipers and the pinch method and it shows 18% Just from what I've seen I believe the 18% is…

I think I may have posted earlier but I am holding right at 179. When I started I was 245. The charts say my ideal weight should be 150, but I think that is way too low. I'm shooting for 170 right now.

I use heart rate during cardio exercise to calculate calorie burn.

I have tried several trackers. None of them gave me what I would call an accurate account of calories burned. They are good for comparing your amount of activity from day to day, but that is as far as I would go with them. J

I've tried all the diet fads. Low carb only works for a while. Other diets are too hard. Just use this app and count your calories. The only secret to loosing weight is, you have to burn more calories than you consume. I've lost 50 pounds since August 2015. It has been simply by counting calories as accurately as possible.…

I'm taking today and tomorrow off from trying to loose. Going to enjoy the wonderful foods, then back to it.

This is what I plan to do. Partake of the wonderful foods in moderation!

Sounds like a plan!

Good Plan!

That's my hope. :-)

Ok, thanks for the info and encouragement from everyone. I have been using a combination of scales and measuring cup for calorie calculations. I'll see if maybe I can be a little more exact in measuring. I will try also to be a little more patient with the scales.

I am eating around 1500 calories per day. I am 60, male, and retired and fairly sedentary. I use an elliptical two times a day at 30 min each. Been plateaued for about a week now. Carefully measuring calories. Using the myfitnesspal app to track calories. J

I hope this method works for you. I have experience in fasting for religious reasons. I believe the most potentially harmful part of this is that when you come to a non fasting day you will want to binge. J

Thanks for all the input.
