I used to ask that question myself. I have finally reached weight and fitness level where I feel good about my body. It’s hard to explain but I can tell when I go up a pound or down a pound without ever getting on the scales. Start by figuring your BMI, then once you’ve reached it, ring where you feel your best.

What is a recomp?

Yes that’s me. I’m just trying to gain muscle without fat.

I tried it today. It seemed to do pretty well. I’m not really sure how to know when the straps are tight enough but not too tight. What I have read is you should sinch them to about a 7 out 10. That’s a little ambiguous.

Yes, I have been shooting for 200 cal over maintenance. I’m not great at watching macros, I will try to start that. I have always done well just watching calories. I have been trying to get as much protein as possible but haven’t really measured it. I don’t have any trouble getting carbs. Ha ha.

That is where I am too Richln, at my age I find it very difficult to gain much muscle mass. I love workouts, it makes me feel alive. As I begin adding more calorie and protein intake all I seem to see is fat accumulating around my waist and not much muscle mass in my arms etc. I hate that feeling of fat around my waist.

I’ve always used a belt I purchased at Walmart. I didn’t realize there was such a thing as custom lifting belts 😀

So, do I understand, you are trying to gain muscle while in a calorie deficite? My understanding is that you must go over your maintenance calories with a lot of protein to gain muscle.

I get the same comments from friends and family. I just ignore them and do what I want with my body.

The use of a chest strap heart rate monitor is my best answer for calculating calorie burn on any equipment, any exercise. You can calculate calorie burn by average heart rate. My chest band links by blue tooth to my smart phone. It automatically does the calculating for me.

As everyone has said here. Unfortunately the skin is there to stay. Just tuck it in and go on.

I'm not sure if others are treating me any different after loosing 100 lbs, however I have more confidence in myself.

Unfortunately, Through experience, I have very little respect or confidence in Doctors. But thanks for all the replies.

Thanks for all the replies. I do mostly cardio exercise. I usually lift light weights with high reps. I do body weight exercises. I love to bicycle and use the elliptical. I usually do 2 - 30 minute sessions a day. 30 min in the morning and a 30 minute in the afternoon. The leg pain started several months ago. At first…

It is perfectly normal for your rate of loss to decrease as you near your target weight. With only 17.5 lbs to go, it could take some time. Just be patient. It will eventually come off. Keep the faith.
