Very Nice Girl!

A lot depends on your age. I am 62 and lost over 100 lbs. I have some excess skin. Some did shrink but there is some that I will just have for the rest of my life (without surgery). If you are younger your skin will be a little more elastic and may shrink a little more. Good luck, it's all worth it!

I have found some nice workout clothes at the local thrift store.

I lost 100 lbs. Yes there will be loose skin. Some of it will shrink a little bit. Mostly it only shows when naked. I can usually tuck it in my belt and go on. It's unfortunate but short of surgery there seems to be nothing that can be done about it. It's still worth the work though. :-)

Surgery would be too expensive for me. Sometimes health insurance will pay but only if it is health threatening.

I know how you feel. I have struggled with this myself. I think I have finally found an equilibrium. You just have to keep experimenting with the settings in MFP until you find the amount of calories you burn per day plus exercise calories that will offset the calories you eat. I think that 2 hours a day of exercise is a…

It's been a year since the 8 month loss. Still a lot of saggy skin. fortunately most of it can be tucked into pants. Sorry if Too Much Information. But there is no disguising the loose skin in a bathing suit.

Im up for more friends on this fitness journey.

I too would be glad for new friends to encourage and be encouraged by. I am currently in maintenance after loosing 100lbs in 8 months. Now trying to build some muscle!

i have battled weight all my life. Thanks to MFP I learned how to count calories. Ive lost 100 lbs in 8 months and have kept it off so far for 2 years.

Unfortunately loose skin is unavoidable. I am 62 and lost 100 lbs. Some skin did tighten with exercise and filling the loose skin with muscle. However, unless surgery is an option, the skin will always be there.

I think that the "rate of perceived exertion" is probably the main culprit. :-)

Thanks folks. A lot of good info to consider.

Yes, identical path each time.

Thanks guys for taking time to comment. I appreciate your input. Yes for the first time in my life (I'm 61 years young) I do feel good and fit. When I started with MFP I was 245 lbs and 5'6". Now I have lost 100 lbs and work out daily. What I am trying to do now is gain muscle. I'm trying to discern between muscle weight…

In answer to sgt1372, I currently weigh 146, down from 246 when I started. My original goal was to get to a healthy weight. There were a lot of plateaus and discouragement along the journey but I can honestly say now that it was all worth it. Now that I am at a healthy weight I would like to work on muscle gain. Thanks to…

Thanks for taking time to help.

Interesting option. I will consider it. Thanks. I may however settle for just toning for now.
-
I really appreciate your honesty. It is actually a relief to know this because I have been working so hard and trying to do everything right and haven't seen much gain. Even though it isn't what I want to hear, it is nice to know its not my fault.

First of all congratulations on reaching the maintenance stage. Maintenance is actually more tricky than loosing. At least it has been for me. It will take you a while to find that balance. I have gone up and down as much as 10 pounds either way trying to find that balance. You will never be completely balanced. Just weigh…

I don't know how old you are, but I have problems with getting dizzy when I stand up fast. It started after I lost 100 pounds. My Dr. told me it was just due to my age. I'm 61. Like others have said, got see your Dr.
