HAHA, too funny!! :) I just have not seen kettlebells in the local sporting goods stores until recently. Thanks for the chuckle though! ;)
-
^^That sounds interesting!!

Not all, but it is nice to have some options. ;)

Plain nonfat greek yogurt, eaten straight from the container. I can't do it. I need to mix banana or other fruit or a teaspoon or two of peanut butter in with it. Although I must say, I am okay with the protein powder that I have. That surprises me, because I was always gagged from protein powders years ago. I guess maybe…

Keep trying until you find someone to talk to that you understand and makes sense to you in a helpful healthful way. I am looking for a pcp that I can get on the same wavelength, so I know it can be frustrating. It sounds like you need a good nutritionist or other professional to help you out, if you feel you are having…

^^Wow, interesting!!

Totally get it. Agreed. Hopefully I get there, closer to my goal, and will understand and be able to manage the macros then. Thanks for the advice!!
-
Agreed! We all need to find what works for us. ;)
-
BOY do I wish we had like buttons!! :) Thanks, all, for all your info and insight and opinions..I am not even sure what my macros are..?? LOL..:p I am def not going to fret as much over the numbers..try and get close, but not beat myself up so much if I am too low or too high on one or the other..

I wish we had like buttons for posts. :) I think I am soon going to stop tracking, I pretty much have an idea of how it works now. And yes, I agree, it is far more telling to gauge how we look and feel as opposed to meeting protein, fat and carb requirements each day. As long as we are making conscious efforts to eat…

So interesting to hear everyone's situations and what they do. Thanks for sharing. Congrats to those doing so well and keep it up everyone!! :)

So nice to see inspiration and see how others are faring and share their stories. I adjusted mine. I have a lot of weight to lose and started off with Protein 60% and Fat 20% and Carbs 20%. That obviously was not working. So I adjusted to Carbs 45%, Protein 30% and Fat 25%. I seem to be faring much better so far. I had…

Great suggestions. I totally agree, need to up the protein intake and maybe not worry so much about the fat content of things. Thanks!! :)
-
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Yep, I like being able to check reviews on the products..so helpful!! :) Thanks again!!
-
Yep. My problem seems to be finding things that are high enough in protein yet also help me reach the alloted calories for the day. Hence the ensuing protein powder/protein bar suggestions. :)
-
Thanks!!
-
Bingo. That is exactly what I plan on doing. How often do you use protein powder and have a protein bar..? (question for mylittlerainbow, and/or anyone else wishing to answer! :) )
-
Yes, I have def considered protein bars. I may even try the protein powder yet. The nice thing nowadays is info is so much more readily available about a product than some 20 years ago, when I first tried protein shakes. And I may even just sprinkle the protein powder on some foods and consume it that way as opposed to…

I have been buying a rotisserie chicken here and there, and keeping it in the fridge to make quick meals like quick chicken salad, a sandwich with some cheese and baby spinach or whatever toppings you like. Boil some reduced sodium broth and cook some frozen veggies and add the chicken in cubed pieces. Shred the chicken…

This looks really good, thanks for sharing!!

Well maybe it's time I try protein shakes again. Maybe they've come a long way. If I learned to down the (nasty, imho) plain nonfat greek yogurt, how bad can a protein shake be..? I guess it just all boils down to personal preference as far as what we are willing to put into our bodies.
-
Thanks. I shoot for at least 10 (8 oz) glasses of water. Often it is more like 12, but I suppose I could even up that amount. Looks like, as you and a few others have suggested, that I am going to have to cave and try some protein bars (low salt) and maybe some protein shakes. I detest protein shakes for a million reasons…

Some excellent posts and thoughts and info, thanks everyone!! I think I will stick with my Britta filtered tap water and occasionally 'splurge' with a Propel water (that is if I like it and it agrees with me.) Will pick up a couple bottles tomorrow. Thanks again!!

Great thoughts & info, thanks all!
-
Totally makes sense!! Thanks, I agree that sounds more logical. Thanks for all the replies!

TY, TY!!

Thanks for the replies. Guess it is time to find more ways to up the protein intake and not be so obsessed with low-fat stuff. When I *have* tried to up the protein intake, the calories somehow seem low for the day. Just have to find a good balancing act, I guess. I still can't bring myself to use protein shakes. Tried…

Wish this was like Facebook and we had like buttons for posts and replies..thanks Phrick and everyone!! I am the same, most of the time I smile and nod when it comes to family or friends disagreeing with food choices. I have a friend who is overboard with watching everything and follows the fads and I just smile and tell…

Very, very true, thank you!!

That sounds like a good idea. I used to work out years ago first thing in the morning. Bonus is it is out of the way!! ;) Thanks!!
