  • Man oh man... getting 1st place is SO CLOSE, yet so far away. I will admit I failed and didn't max out like I wanted to last week, but I'm looking to redeem myself this week. One of my organizations at school is doing a national step challenge, so I was super active today and got ~20,000 steps in. I did my first Zumba…
  • Challenge 3 What I tried: Preparing my own tofu What I experienced: It wasn't too hard to prepare! I've had tofu before in restaurants but never at home. After draining and pressing it, I made a the Thai Tom Kha soup with it. Tom Kha is like a spicy coconut soup with ginger, garlic, shallots, cilantro, thai peppers, and…
  • I also needed more protein in my diet in order to reach my macros. So, I started blending smoothies using Premium Gold Whey Chocolate or Gold Standard Natural Whey Vanilla - along with almond milk, greek yogurt, fruit (raw or frozen), spinach, and sometimes a powdered peanut butter (PB2). I found that I had an increase in…
  • SW: 155 GW: 125 1/23 - 151.8 1/30 - 150.2 2/7 - 150.8 2/17 -148.8 Total weight loss: 6.2 pounds (23.8 pounds to go) WOOHOO!!! Finally some difference on the scale. I kept gaining and losing the same two pounds (152-150) for like 3 weeks, but now I've broken into the 140s. I'm hoping I can keep this momentum going, I hate…
  • Unfortunately I should be sleeping, so I didn't dive in to deep to this but I'll give you my understanding (coming from a 2nd year pharmD student perspective.) Just a quick background on Alzheimers - it forms due to a build up of misshaped B-amyloid proteins. So this accumulation of B-amyloid protein is not good - picture…
  • Evening Smashers! I finished the foot massage videos today and got a good 45 minute walk in. I'm planning to do challenge 1 tomorrow, and challenge 3 at some point during the weekend (probably Saturday). Last I looked we are in 2nd but not by much.
  • For the members that don't like asparagus... which I LOVE. But then again I've never met a vegetable I didn't like. And more encourage mint!
  • @digger61 I love spaghetti squash! There's so much you can do with flavor wise, but my favorite has to be spaghetti squash with an alfredo sauce and chicken. I always blot the squash after it's cooked to get rid of any extra moisture so it's not slimy. @mari_moulin giiiiirl you almost gave me a heart attack with the 5th…
  • @plainanjelik hahaha, going to the buffet for one piece of shrimp?! That picture in my head had me laughing. I can't believe some of y'all don't like the chicken of the sea. @aim630 I think the key to fish is getting really fresh meat. It's supposed to smell like the ocean, not like that off-putting bad fish smell. I…
  • Not sure what you originally saw, but if you're on the main page of the mobile you can click the add button > click add status > then at the bottom it should say something like add progress photos. The app has never prompted me before though, but hopefully this helps!
  • MAAAAAAAN. Every week you guys! Team 1 beats us by a little bit. It kills me. I was walking around my town for hours to get minutes in, ugh. If the locals didn't think I was crazy before, they probably do now! Well, we still pushed ourselves hard and held on to 2nd place. Team 5 was just 50 points behind us, so we should…
  • There's this awesome Fitbit group on MFP, where member @heybales broke everything down in an FAQ section: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10098937/faq-syncing-logging-food-exercise-calorie-adjustments-activity-levels-accuracy/p1
  • @tarpguys I am so sorry for your family's loss  I'm praying for healing and comfort for you all during this time. @lynnbaum Way to go! It sounds like your mind is in the right place. It's hard to make time to work out and eat right almost every day, but then it wouldn't be a challenge. I talked to Shan and right now…

  • @carinamenina Wow, that's an incredible transformation! You should be very proud for taking charge of your health! I did 85 minutes today - most of it walking up and down 2 flights of stairs inside. We got hit with some snow, so not a lot of walking outside for me. Completed another 15 minutes of the balance video -…
  • I try to limit it to just a few drinks (1-2, 3 if I'm feeling froggy) on the weekend. I'm a wine drinker as well. I think white wine is actually less in calories but red wine has more health benefits? Last summer I drank frequently and it definitely showed when it came to my weight. I think I gained ~5-10 pounds. Not just…
  • Evening smashers! Glad y'all liked the kangaroo pictures  Last I logged we are 147 points behind team 1 - they currently have 4,729 miles and 110 challenge points, we have 3467 miles and 90 challenge points. Looks like we are keeping up on challenge points, so that's awesome. I had a very active day today -…

  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users This MFP group is specifically for fitbit users and will help get you started. From their FAQ section "How do I set up a sync between MFP and Fitbit? Best place seems to be your MFP web account first, as it seems to cut down on syncing issues later. MFP - Apps -…
  • Thought you were gonna pull a Katy Perry
  • Man! Who says that to pregnant lady? I don't care what size you are, it should never be brought up unless it's a concern from your doctor. It sounds like she constantly spews a lot of negativity towards you. Just know that's HER crappy projection of herself, and not you. This a monumental moment in your life and you…
  • Smashers vs. Team 1  This will be us at the end of the week! And this will be our competition!! Lol, a little kangaroo humor to pep us up! We have some great competition, so we have to be better!
  • @darcijojo Oh man, sounds like a super busy day. I don't know how some of the moms on our team are able to juggle it all and kick some serious butt, you all are very inspiring! I'm currently 2/5 days under calories, 696/1332 stair steps in, and 123/700 minutes for the week. Planning to do the balance video tomorrow. Team 1…
  • Hey guys - so kind of a silly question, but for this stairs challenge are we counting like the flight of stairs or the steps? For example, I went up and down stairs 20 times yesterday - is that just 20 out of the challenge goal or is that the 20 X 12, so 240 out of the goal?
