That looks really good

Honestly, is salad really that expensive in the US?!!! I'm really shocked - it's normally about £1 a bag here in the UK.

I'd slice it, grill it until it's crispy and then eat it with poached eggs, baked beans and mushrooms for Sunday brunch, yum
-
I snack on roasted cauliflower ....I can easily munch through a whole one!
-
Neither - why eat something processed that comes out of a factory when you could have something like scrambled eggs and mushrooms?

I'm hovering a couple of lbs above the top of my healthy weight range at the moment, so I have a vague goal of getting somewhere within that range, but no definite goal. At this stage, I'm taking it a couple of weeks at a time and seeing how I feel.

Not sure about aesthetics, but I get annoyed when people say things like 'you can't expect to be the same weight you were when you were young'. Really, actually, I was fat when I was young too. I'm exactly the weight I was as a teenager, but I'm finally doing something about it.

I'm vegetarian, gluten free and add chillies to almost everything

I find it helps to have a huge pan of very low cal veggie soup in the fridge so I can have a couple of bowlfuls between meals for minimum calories. Maybe you could use something like that as a starter for your meals.

Me too

Quorn is also good for veggie protein

I save calories by dicing veg, steaming it and then mixing it into the boiled rice to bulk it out. Daal made with onion, lentils and spices (no ghee) is fairly low cal too. And poppadums ....cook in the microwave instead of frying them. Mango chutney is very high calorie, but you can still have the taste by mixing a spoon…

I can recommend 'PCOS Dietbook' by Colette Harris. It basically suggests a healthy diet which includes carbs, but chooses whole grain over processed. It's really good for going into the theory of why it is harder to lose weight with PCOS. On a personal note, I have found that I maintain for 3 or 4 weeks, drop 2 or 3lb…

I've been making healthy flapjacks for snacks - melt 55g butter, 2 tbsp peanut butter and 3 tbsp stevia in a pan. Add a grated apple and 2 bananas, then blend. Add 250g oats and 350g of mixed nuts/seeds/dried fruit. Bake it for 55 mins on low heat. Makes 16 yummy snacks :-)

I tried slimming world a few years ago and put weight on - it seems ok for people who naturally know what a sensible portion is, but that definitely doesn't include me!

I haven't a clue whether I'm coeliac or just allergic. When I saw a gastroenterologist to get tested, he explained that I had to go back on gluten for 6 weeks before testing. I tried, but after 3 days of not being able to leave the vicinity of the bathroom, I gave up and decided I could live with not knowing, so long as I…

As a rough guide for takeaways, I look up what it would be as a ready meal and double it.

I don't log mine, but I set my daily calories at 500 below the recommended level to compensate. As long as I average 500 calls per day on fruit and veg, it works out the same calorie wise but with much less effort tracking.

I find that if I've been eating a lot of sugar, I pile on weight very quickly as I get enormous amounts of water retention. As soon as I start to eat sensibly again, the water weight drops off and the scales can drop by 7lb over a weekend. However, if I just overeat generally and put on fat, it takes a lot longer to see a…

Someone gave me some Teff flour with instructions on how to make Ethiopian flatbreads. It involved fermenting the stuff until an evil smell took over the house then cooking it up like pancakes. Tasted like a rancid cow pat and looked like it too

I don't log them, but knocked 450 calls off my daily goal to take that into account. I eat lots of little bit of veg, maybe 10 different types if I make a curry or stir fry and I honestly can't be bothered logging a huge list of tiny amounts every meal.

I'm a third year student nurse and have lost 35lb so far whilst studying. I find it hard to make time to cook healthy meals, so when I do cook, I do it in vast quantities and freeze the results in portions. That way, when I'm doing long shifts on placement, all I have to do is take a tub or two out of the freezer and stick…

I've taken the best of both systems and it seems to be working. I set MFP to give me a daily calorie goal of 1000kcals (my recommended was 1450) but I don't track fruit and veg. I find it helps psychologically to know I can always eat, even if it is only carrot sticks or veg soup and if I don't fancy either of those then I…

I had mine 5 years ago and it's the best decision I ever made. There was so much loose skin that I could pull it up and out about 8" from my body, so the surgeon had to do an additional vertical incision to pull the loose skin in from the sides. My scar is like an anchor, straight down the middle and hip to hip, but it…

Hi, I'm from Lancashire

I'm gluten free too, although not sure if it's coeliac or just an allergy - I tried to go back on gluten for long enough to be tested but the gut problems were unbearable so I've resigned myself to never finding out. I'm also vegetarian, which is an awkward combination when eating out. Luckily I love Indian food.
