  • I bought keto strips from Walgreens. You pee on a stick and the color will vary and show you how much ketosis you are experiencing. I think a pack of 50 was like $12.

  • Fruits under glycemic index of 50 are what Vinnie says. General rule is eat fruits you eat with the skin on. Berries are good. Avocados are an exception to that general rule
  • I've said all I've needed to say in the thread. I'm in 2 months and feel great and the results are visible with a very low activity level. There's plenty of places to find the information if you care to look. The main basis for the diet came from vinnietortorich dot com faqs. Go there to learn about it before going on the…
  • Nope, just sharing my experience. Not telling other how they should live. Pointing to information I found. I don't give a hoot what other people do. They can all die for all I care. I typically don't like people in general, and this post is reminding me why.
  • Guessing calories in / calories out
  • Sugars and grains are not macros. Carbs are, and those can easily be consumed from fruits and veggies. It's not a no carb diet. It's finding your carbs from more natural foods
  • This thread is getting out of hand. I'm going to backtrack a little. I'm not selling anything here. I simply stated what I've found and have directed people to those channels where they can do their own research. I hold no liability for others actions. I don't claim to know everything about this. But based on how my body…
  • I don't know, but if you're on this blog, you're not training world class athletes.
  • Also, vinnie tortorich has a doctorate from Tulane which is more than can be said about you people naysaying NSNG. He is one of the best fitness trainers out there. Go to his site, debate him...
  • When a book is based off solid research, it's based off solid research....
  • Also, there's more than sugar to worry about in candy. I'd be worried more about the processed chemicals they put in there. Also, explain why obesity rates have increased since the government put grains on that awful food pyramid.
  • Joe Rogan wasn't supplying the information. The author of the primal blueprint was. The glucose your body needs can derived from fruits and veggies alone.
  • Annavocino dot com has some great recipes for NSNG. She also has a cookbook coming out this summer. I love the fat head pizza crust for making pizza, it's like 30 carbs for the whole pizza
  • I'd add you but I don't know how. You can add me if you know how.
  • In 62 days myself and down 26 lbs. and have way better energy levels than I have ever had. I always caution newbies about the low carb flu they can get in the first 2 weeks. It's very important to keep your activity level low the first 2 weeks of going into this. I'm in this for life. And the more I keep reading about this…
  • That's exactly where I heard about this in the first place. I added vinnietortorich dot com to the Main post but they must have filtered that out now that I am looking at the original post again. Must have flagged that kind of stuff as spam.
  • There Also a ton of omega 3's in chia seeds. Good for healthy brain function.
  • I use flax and chia seeds for that ;-)
  • There's also a lot of research about how sugars and grains create an inflammatory response in the body, making the body more suseptable to sickness, diseases, and ailments. Also about how a diet can turn on switches in our DNA and turn our bodies into fat burning machines. Check out the books I mentioned before and the Joe…
  • That's how I felt it was going to be for bread for me. I manage 6 pizza restaurants so I am around pizza and bread everyday, but I don't really get any cravings for it unless I am just hungry in general.
  • As a cyclist I can tell you the shorts have WAY more impact than the seat will. Spend some real money on a good pair of padded shorts. Ease into it, but do it consistently. Go 5 days Straight. Day 1 20 minutes, day 2 30 minutes, and continually go longer. Each day you will be slightly sore but it will subside after a few…
  • After 30 days, it doesn't feel restrictive, it feels liberating. And it is very practical for a person who wants to lead a healthy lifestyle. And what is more effective?
  • 3 Eggs over medium. And a veggie shake consisting of 1/4 lemon, 2 celery sticks, 1/4 of an apple, 4 tablespoons chia seeds, 2 tablespoons of flax seeds, 1 cup of spinach, some romain, water, and ginger. I eat this everyday, and alternate adding an avocado or bacon on the plate with the eggs.
  • There is some research about fasting and how it has helped some with weight loss. Fasting as in eating for a small window during the day and fasting for the rest of the day. Obviously going to bed with a tummy full of anything is bad for digestion because of how your body acts during sleep. But going to bed with a stomach…

  • Broccoli has a surprising amount of protein, and it's physically hard to eat a lot of it. I pack that and hard boiled eggs in my car for snacking
  • Trans fats are found in mostly garbage food. If you're eating real foods you should never see trans fats

  • Don't fall for the bro science. Just eat eggs. Before and after your workout. They contain every essential amino acid your body needs and the fats for energy. Basically what I am seeing is comments saying to spike your glycogen levels with sugar. It's a great recipe for crashing fast.
  • Listen to your body. There are days I eat 1200 calories and feel fine as a 200lb male. It's important that those calories have the nutrients your body needs though. A good amount of fats and proteins to keep your Brian at a good level.
