Fellow Canadian here. I agree life is often funny and it's worth looking for some laughs. I can't say I try to be funny on here but I also have a long way to my goal. Feel free to add me.

They sure are! I saw your baby earlier in the thread and tried to reply but MFP was acting up. Yours is so cute!

No, it's not impossible to lose 5-10 lbs a week. It would require an enormous amount of daily exercise. Most people have jobs, school and their life to live so they can't spend 5-6 hours every day in a gym exercising. If you've watched The Biggest Loser, you will understand the commitment those contestants have to make to…

Here are my two furbabies. Having dogs will get you to take more walks so their needs are met. Even if my husband and I both walk the dogs in the same day, they still could go longer.

I keep mine open to friends. I gained over 100 lbs keeping my eating private so I figure it's good to share my diary now. I only had one MFP friend comment on my diary but she seemed upset that I am losing weight while eating more food than she does. I like seeing other people's diaries because it gives me ideas. But it's…

Sure, I would join your group.

I haven't tried the WW stuff for a long time but I used to love the Skinny Cow products. I also incorporate treats daily into my eating. I don't feel deprived if I know I can have a small portion of a treat any day I want to budget for it.

I agree it varies from person to person as to how long it takes for dietary changes to become a lifestyle. If you are still feeling so restricted with your diet 8 weeks into the changes, you might be giving up too much. You gave little information in your post about your past eating habits, your current ones, how much…

You haven't stated what you current weight goals are in your post. Have you thought about eating at maintenance until the stress fracture is repaired? This will give you more calories to work with. You should talk to your doctor about how you should be eating during recovery.

Congratulations - what an inspiration!

You look great! The weight loss has really brought out your eyes and cheekbones.

I don't have any solutions for you. But using up a large portion of your calories on coffee could mean you will miss out on necessary nutrition. It puts you at risk for a nutrient deficiency or bring unable to adhere to your plan. I learned to love my coffee black a few years ago when I realized how many calories are in…

I'm still nursing my 9 month old. As some of the other moms have said, I didn't consider weight loss when my daughter was only 4 months to maintain her milk supply. I waited until she was 7 months and taking solids regularly. Be patient with yourself - it will get easier. I also agree with others who suggested to only…

You should not lose weight while pregnant unless under your doctor's supervision and your doctor approves this. Your weight loss efforts could compromise your baby's development. You can work on your weight after your baby is born - pregnancy is a short period in your life. Enjoy it and have a healthy pregnancy!

I am also having the same problem. The weight came through from my Aria but my diary doesn't show that Fitbit is attached to it. Good to know that I'm not the only one.

Toronto girl currently living in Alberta. I am not a hockey fan though. I do love Timmies but haven't been recently with the calorie counting. I know I can budget for it but I haven't craved it so far. Feel free to add me.

I had gestational diabetes with my pregnancy last year. As others have said, work with your doctor and follow their advice carefully. You don't necessarily end up with a huge baby if you can carefully control your sugars. If they will refer you to a dietician or public health nurse, take all the help you can get. It is a…

The important thing is to find eating habits that are sustainable in the long run. You lost a lot 2 years ago which is fantastic. But then you gained 70 lbs which is about half a person on a 5'2 frame. You will need to find out why you are going to such extremes with your eating and handle those issues. Then you will be…

Hi everyone. I am a working mom with a 8 month old. I am still breastfeeding and having success with weight loss so far. I add calories for breastfeeding which helps with not feeling too hungry. Feel free to add me - my diary is open for friends.

I get some Fitbit syncing glitches too but they usually fix themselves by the end of the day. It's been really helpful to have the adjustment for my activity level. There are some minor issues, like getting steps for petting my dogs or not getting steps if I am walking slowly. I consider the whole day of data and don't get…

Feel free to add me. I am finding a balance with keeping control of my portion sizes and aiming for my macros. You'll see sweets including daily cookies in my diary. I have lost 10 lbs since I started MFP and I have at least 70 lbs to go. I have an 8 month old so my only exercise is walking and running around after my…

I was 28 weeks pregnant last March when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I was also morbidly obese. I met with a dietician and learned how to eat in a healthy way. I was able to keep my blood glucose levels under control during the day. I had to take insulin at night because my morning fasting reading was too…

Feel free to add me. I've been using MFP just over a month and I've lost 9 lbs. I am looking to lose at least another 70 lbs so I am looking for friends who will using MFP for a while.

Once you get going, no, you will never say it is easier to be fat. When your clothes are looser, your mobility increases, you have more energy, you feel more alive....no, it is not easier to be fat. It is awesome that you are doing this - keep going and look for new opportunities with your lifestyle so you don't feel…

There is no setting for nursing mothers. Breastfeeding can be added as an exercise so the calories are added under activity to increase daily calorie allowance. Or you can manually add it to the calories MFP gives you based on your goals.

I'm 5'2 and I need to lose 70-80 lbs. My current weight is 212 lbs and my highest weight was in the 260s. I have been using MFP for about a month and want to keep going. Anyone can feel free to add me.

What about breaking it down into something more manageable than a day? Could you do breakfast within your goal? Then set a goal for the next snack or meal? Whenever I get overwhelmed, it helps to make something that looks big into smaller, manageable chunks.

My own experience with cruises was that the food was average. Things look good, including pastries, but often tasted bland. The cruise I took only provided better food and coffee if you wanted to pay extra for it. If your cruise is like that, it may make it easier not to overindulge if you have to pay more for your treats.

I am 214 lbs and looking to get below 140 lbs. Feel free to add me.
