True, I slept all day yesterday, and most of the day after work the day before. I had to go back to work today so I'm trying to be productive while I have to be.
-
Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it.

Haha, this does seem to be the obvious answer, doesn't it. I dunno, maybe it's because I've been at a deficit for so long, but the thought makes me nervous. I should probably give it a try. Not sure what I'm so worried about.

That's amazing! My husband and I just ordered it and will be starting it tomorrow, I've heard good things so we shall see! We're planning to follow it completely, the nutrition and the 60 days. Should be seeing some good results. Good luck to you!

My husband and I are about to start Insanity together, just waiting on the package to come in the mail! Feel free to add me :)

I'm really happy with it. My husband has been fighting me tooth and nail about getting exercise. We're both gamers, he more than I, so when this came out we leaped out of our chairs and have been walking at LEAST half an hour if not multiple hours a day together. We're having friends over tonight and instead of all sitting…

True, it's the only way I can get my husband to exercise. Now instead of us all sitting on our butts and playing games, we're all walking around the neighborhood and the downtown in a pack for hours. I love it, it's better than nothing!

Very true. Much higher! Obviously there are things that slip through the cracks, but at least a good amount of food is monitored by the FDA while supplements mostly are not regulated at all. Checking the article out now, thank you very much!

Could you link the discussion? I'd be interested in reading about it and seeing what resources it uses! I love learning more about things. Though I'd argue that obtaining anything naturally is better than taking a supplement, as it has been proven that supplements don't always contain what they say they do, and also have…
-
Haha, CLA from natural sources is good, though I definitely don't believe in the woo that comes from the supplements. They just make me sick to my stomach. That is true! I love goat cheese too, mmmm. That's definitely interesting, I'll have to try! I'm always down to get more from what I eat!

I was actually about to post something about this in the forum but you beat me to it OP! I love seeing people's thoughts on this. I was just reading an article, not really a reliable reference in itself, but it uses a lot of reputable references listed below (in the form of academic journals and encyclopedias etc), so I…

This is exquisite.

In one month?

Well, what are your goals? And how much do you weigh at the moment?

Happy Wednesday! This is a day that is a long work day for me (10 hours) and then I take classes at night, so I did my workout at the gym at work. Didn't do too shabby though! Cardio: Walking around the building at medium intensity. Strength: Legs! Squats, leg curls, abductors, adductors, leg press and weighted ab machine!…
-
Happy Tuesday all! Cardio: Grocery shopping, food prep and cleaning all day, haha, but I definitely broke a sweat! Strength: Chest and tris! Currently benching 95lbs, progress is progress! Assessment: Macros have been on point for the last two days, so I'm pleased! Feeling good, and food for the week is prepped and the…

You guys are so welcoming!!! I love it! <3 Thank you! Today I'm really excited because I've finally just gotten myself enrolled in my NASM certification courses! <3 Cardio: Stair Master (UGH) for 15 min (141 calories) Strength: Back- reverse grip pull downs, standing barbell rows, one arm rows, dropset burnout of close…

To put it into perspective, I'm a 5'3 female at 138lbs and I eat 1750 calories minimum (150g protein, 45g fat, and 175g carbs) plus some of my exercise calories and I still lose 1.5-2lbs a week. I think you are not eating nearly enough.
-
As far as post exercise burn, I had read that the EPOC effect after high intensity work outs were as much as 6-15% of the total energy cost of the work out session. Your BMR doesn't just stay elevated after the exercise, the more muscle you have the higher your BMR will be just because your body burns more calories to…

We definitely already told you this in your previous post asking the exact same thing, lol.
-
Sameeee!!! This is 100% true for me as well.

I love this, and I need to hear this more often. If I have a "bad food" even if it more than likely fits into my macros anyway, I always feel so guilty. It's a step up from feeling guilty for eating anything (I was not so healthy in college), counting macros has given me a way to eat so that I don't have to feel guilty…
-
Maybe switching up your macros will help? Your body is trying to balance itself, shake it up a bit, shock your body! I don't really know if IF is woo or not... I'm inclined to think that it's mostly losing water weight and "extra baggage" in the colon, and not a sustainable fat loss method.
-
Lol, no. You lost water weight and all the stuff you were holding in your colon. For maintainable FAT loss, not weight loss, you need to eat right to maintain your metabolism and still have a deficit. Cleanses and "fasting" are all woo.
-
So I know your pain, as I have always carried my weight in my thighs. Unfortunately, there's no way to target just your thighs as far as losing fat from them. If you eat less calories than you burn in a day (not just from exercise) then you will lose fat all over--this will happen faster if you supplement with exercise…
-
Also, looking at your diary, you don't seem to be eating enough to consistently burn over 1000 calories a day working out... you're going to burn yourself out really really hardcore. Overtraining is awful, and it will put you out of the gym for a long time if you're not careful. You should be trying to eat back some…
-
You should give it at least a couple weeks if not a month on a plan before you know if it's working or not. When I first started working with a trainer I wasn't allowed to weigh myself for a whole month. I ended up losing almost 7 pounds in that month (which is a lot considering I'm only trying to tone).
-
Very interesting! I eat around 1750 base calories (can be around 1900 when eating back exercise calories) as a 138lb 25 year old female who lifts heavy with intensity and supplements with cardio 5-6 days a week. I lose about 1.5-2lbs a week. I'm wondering how the total calorie amount changes for people who are heavier or…

@kimaboyd here are just percentages.

Well, yes, so you did 130(4)+65(9) and then subtracted the value from the TDEE to divide by 4 to get carbs, I mean how did you get the TDEE number? I read that it was usually the person's weight multiplied by 11-14 depending on the person's activity level. Is there a better way?
