I guess I was mistaken...I didn't know webmd was someone's opinion I thought it was medical fact. The op was asking about cutting back on sugar and people were saying even someone with diabetes doesn't need to worry about sugar which I thought was crazy but ok

Hfcs can be 90% fructose and there is crystalline fructose. If you read the articles all the way through they all say fruits and vegetables aren't a concern but to watch your added sugars, especially fructose. I went to a calorie calculator and guessed your age to be 25. It says at your height and weight you need 2100 calories to maintain your weight. If you're just starting out I would either eat 1600 calories with no exercise or 2100 calories with exercise and see how your first couple of weeks go and then adjust from there

A 1000 calorie deficit seems high. A little more information would be helpful. How many calories are you consuming?
