Bwaahahahaa! :joy:

You can also order them directly from Edenfoods.com, which runs pretty good specials from time to time. (They offer dry and canned, organic and commercial.)

The bouts of GERD I previously visited upon myself have pretty much vanished since I jettisoned carbs and NSAIDs (but >creeeeak<... ) and doubled my sodium intake. I would never have thunk it possible! I still kick myself, with my good leg, for waiting so *kitten* long.

Whatever you're doing, you seem to have turned the corner. Congratulations!

Hmm.. A 2-hour check may not tell you how high your BG got, though it may not have gotten any higher. Mine tends to peak around 30-45 minutes from when I start (or at least it did when I made the unpleasant discovery... )

You might consider a Coronary Artery Calcium CT scan and scoring, which will show actual calcified plaque. They are only $100 in my neck of the woods and you can get one without a doctor's order.

10 days @ 3 days recovery per day of backsliding = 30 days of super-strict eating, drinking, logging, exercising, & good sleep. That should be enough to get your habits reestablished and vanquish any of those pernicious carb cravings!

Au contraire - a dream come true! (see previous post)

Is there a good test for magnesium?

My client, Mr. Lott, accordingly requests your express written consent. I am informed that he adores your client and that his health and well-being, in particular his ability to resist twinkies and orange juice, depend on his ability to partake of her likeness multiple times hourly. Thank you in advance for your client's…

If you were blowing an A1c under 4.5, you are probably in pretty good shape with your ability to control your blood glucose! That's really great. It looks like your LDL-size was trending in the right direction. It's pretty widely accepted that lipids tend to elevate during periods of weight loss with LC diets; I'm not sure…

@Mandycat223?

True! A carping colony of cacophonous crickets can still be pretty *kitten* annoying after a while...
-
@nvmomketo, if your mum has never had diabetes or CAD, hasn't had a Coronary Artery Calcium CT scan (and scoring), and doesn't have an advanced lipoprotein test showing alarming LDL subparticle numbers.... then why does the doc think she's got plaque that so desperately needs stabilizing? :/

Holy cats. You did it again! (Do I still get the grandfather price?)

Great explanation, thanks.

As I recall, Eden Foods imported the seeds from Japan back when. A public service!

Wow! I'll have a bowl of whatever she's having......

Timeless words.... Chris Masterjohn expertly and succinctly picks apart the AHA's odd selection of studies it chose to include in its meta-analysis hatchet job on saturated fat and heart disease: https://chrismasterjohnphd.com/2017/06/24/coconut-oil-killing-us/

Amens all around! Good idea to get baselines. Wish I had more of them. You probably have a slew of recent kidney tests...?? How did your A1c and NMR tests come out? Are you tracking BG pretty closely now? https://chriskresser.com/why-hemoglobin-a1c-is-not-a-reliable-marker/…

In my case, it may have been shouts of joy from imprisoned grains and starches being released after decades of captivity.....

Zing! Better to blame the messenger; those were Ralfisms, not Phinneyisms.

On a 51-yo diabetic, I didn't find the togs particularly unflattering.... PS The dorky mom look will eventually subside and be replaced with the affectionate "isn't my mom such a cute old lady?" gaze.

Dang. That sounds exactly like what I thought Phinney said. I must have missed something ... :s
