:blush: haha you should be writing ad copy! ... Wait... You mean... It comes in powder form, too?

It's twoo!

Pray tell, what do you call this cocktail?

I think regular-flavor kerosene might do the trick. ;)

Interesting! Can you fill in any details?

Yes, they are! Light and flavorful, and the canned ones from Eden have perfect texture. Total win!

Great! Could you be persuaded to post a couple highlights?

@ladipoet, do you use a substitute for baking powder (looking to avoid the carbs from corn starch :s), and does the amount vary depending on the mixture of almond and coconut flour? Thx!

Great tips - thanks!

@blomsj, You might find iit useful to have a good introductory guidebook, such as Phinney and Volek's New Atkins for a New You, which counsels against eating cottage cheese in early phases of the diet. It has food lists, sample meal plans, and many, simple explanations of how and why.

Awesome! How low have you gotten your carb intake? IMHO, the diabetes classes can be fertile breeding ground for dubious advice that educators believe, right or wrong, is likely to be followed by "average" T2Ds. My guess is that it will be years until standard diabetes education advises T2Ds to avoid the one thing they…
-
@blomsj, I'll sniff around for a good resource. Otherwise, a boring reply, I'm afraid.... It depends on your goals, but if you're concerned about T2, my suggestion would be to get a good, inexpensive glucose meter (like the Contour Next EZ) and start systematically testing your BG - test it fasting and multiple times after…

This company was acquired by Edgepark (which is likewise happy to go between your doctor and insurance carrier to get glucose and ketone testing supplies into your hands).

@cstehansen - I figure it's next to impossible in most n=1 trials to control even known variables, let alone those we're not aware of. (At least some things this amateur thought he'd learned through scrupulous self-experimentation turned out to be wrong. :s ) I can imagine that unmeasured variations in sleep, emotions,…

Sorry, but I'm no expert on bone density (vitamins D & K have not improved my intelligence, alas). I'll dig out my test results and see what I can remember, but there are surely many others in these parts who know the area much better than I do.

Which test would that have been? You can't beat 0 on a CAC...

Fantastic ! I would gleefully buy (or even rent) both those off you.

@kpk54, thx for the heads-up!

@cstehansen, great post. Thx for sharing your insights.

It sounds as if your doctor went to the Eeyore School of Medicine many moons ago, then stopped reading. Luckily, you followed a different path!

Hmm. What were you expecting? Could be some travel stress also influencing your BG...

@ladipoet, any possibility it's this fellow? https://youtu.be/o7fpyP2IFrQ

There are a few formulas that are used... I like the DCCT formula, which is more conservative (yields higher estimated BG averages) than others. The DCCT table on this page is also stricter in how it categorizes A1c levels in terms of risk. More on the DCCT formula:
