I do plan to stick with plant based eating. I like to eat alot so it works for me. I guess I was just looking forward to the day when I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. I just hoped that my body would naturally maintain my desired weight. Does anyone else ever tire of thinking of food and weight and body image?

I guess it is not. Perhaps there is evidence out there that it is but I don't have time to research it. You can't deny that it certainly helps in the long term. I love water. It is the only thing that truly quenches my thirst. I have found the more I drink the more I crave.

I totally agree with you and water intoxication is a real thing but the example given in your article mentions that the person drank 30 or 40 glasses. Half of a person's body weight in oz would not equal that unless the person was in the upper 400lb range. In that case, I absolutely would not suggest it. I am absolutely no…

I guess everyone is different. I know those things have worked for me and for others. I just tried to suggest things that maybe she hadn't thought of.

It has worked for me as well as others. Although, most days I am about 20 oz short of my goal. It is difficult to drink that much water but very important for overall health especially when active. In fact, if you are very active you should drink more water than that.…

Are you drinking close to half of your body weight in oz of water, getting plenty of sleep, and not eating 2 hours before bedtime? Those three things can make or break success. Good luck. I know you'll reach your goal.

I believe it is a healthier way to be in a calorie defecit. I have lost over 10 lbs on the Starch Solution and I have 20 more to reach my goal. I feel really good and I can eat a lot. I would rather eat a lot of something that is good than just a few bites.

Thank you! You are absolutely right about the strength training. I haven't been a fan in the past but it is necessary to tone.

Check out John Mcdougall's Starch Solution. It has been my way of life for a month and I am seeing results.

18 down since October. 20 to go. It is such a long process. The more I lose the harder it is! I am sure maintenance will be difficult too.

I live in the US.

I'm not sure if someone mentioned this and you may already know this but be sure to weigh yourself at the same time of day. I sometimes weigh 5 lbs more right before bed than I do first thing in the morning before breakfast.

I agree. I obviously can lose weight. I have gone up and down since college. But, I need to make this permanent. There were only maybe 4 years in my late teens/early twenties when I weighed what the charts say I should and I was exercising for an hour or more everyday. I was not eating enough. I certainly wasn't eating…

Not too harsh at all. I am scared to death that another year will go by with no change or temporary change. Food has always been my weakness. I know some of you may think 25 lbs is not much to lose but the struggle has been real. I just love to eat. I will need to change my lifestyle completely. I am changing it…

You are probably right. It I'd disappointing because I just feel it is so difficult to maintain a weight loss but it is comforting because I don't really gain much either. I really need to lose 25. I'd like to weigh what the chart says I should weigh.

I see what you are saying but what I like so much about the starch solution is that the foods are so low calorie and filling that you can eat a lot on it. I have never been very good at creating a calorie defecit by cutting back on everything. I'd rather be able to eat unlimited amounts of most things.

As far as weight loss... Sorry for the typos. It is 5 am.
