Make it fit your lifestyle. The more aligned you are with the real world, the less it feels like a temporary fix or something you have to endure. Motivation will come snowballing as you see your successes and continue to build on them.

Make cheat day every day by eating what you want within your caloric goals, with an eye on nutrition. 1500 seems a pretty aggressive goal... how are you feeling with it? Sustainable? As for sugar and fat goals, those can be somewhat arbitrary. If you're at deficit, but over on those micros/macros, you're still in good…

That's me- so intense. So dramatic. But yeah. Carbs are so great. So. Great. And totally not fattening. Another benefit I've seen... energy levels 100% on point. No crashes.

Ok, this feels like stepping into a VS store alone... But my Lady-Friend LURVS the VSX Incredible Front Close. Ok, I'm out.
-
I'd say... "Yes".

Anything you like and can handle, really. Simple carbs tend to provide quick energy for the workout. If I eat, it's a banana.
-
Woo hoo! Keep that fire lit!

An oft-asked question isn't stupid- it's you getting informed and that's RAD. @Spook_Skywalker gives a good option- personally, I don't track. At all. Kind of freeing, actually.

Liquid calories are grrrrreat.

You may want to wait it out a week or two more and see what comes of it, then revisit...

You're definitely free to based on your goals!
-
Uh... why was that comment necessary? Good for you, OP, on finding something that works for you. You've caught fire and that's fun to see, man.

If you're getting twisted in knots over this, don't track your exercise. I stopped tracking workouts years ago and just did them while keeping a caloric level ballparked through BMR and activity level, adjusting along the way based on goals and progress. Some might argue that point but it worked for me and kept things oh…

"Lean muscles" tend to look like "lean muscles" when the body fat drops and you're lifting structured as @psulemon recommends. Keep doing what you're doing if your goal is to lose more fat with an eye on a productive/defensive level of protein intake. If your goal is to add muscle, time to re-examine your intake.

That's the stuff!! Still, I have to think... if we ever went to the same gym, the time space continuum might explode. Good stuff here, @rynshermy. We're looking forward to seeing you rock the socks off this thing.

You have entered "fun land". Congratulations! Understandably, you're clinging to a lot of bro-science in regard to complex and simple carbs and their "effects". Complex tend to be more nutritionally varied but calorically, there's little difference and that's where the rubber meets the road (nutrition, however, DOES matter…

I have no experience there but know those who do... and yes, it's normal.

Did deadlifts today. Thought of this thread.

YEP.

Have you begun? You're in a good spot. By kicking off a weight training program, "recomposition" will get that "toned" you look you want... and with only 10-15 pounds, you'll be there in no time. That said... I'd recommend to focus less on weight as your recomposition may add weight in the long run. Congrats on getting…

Aaaaaaw YEAH! Congrats!

Your husband, bless his heart, is not entirely accurate. There are whey proteins that are crappier than others in content and ingredients, but your body is going to use whey very efficiently. That said, there's the "no more than 30g" argument for protein intake and the "that's not entirely accurate/WRONG" argument saying…

I noticed this is your second question around this-- what's your goal and what are your concerns, generally? If you're meeting your caloric goals, you're going to lose weight when you're doing any kind of cardio/lifting program. As per how long it takes... depends on the person but if you're consistent, your body is going…

Bananas aren't bad. Unless they're a week old. Then they're horrible.
-
Yes, please. Ill take two. Or three. Thank you.

With what?

This is a tough one. There's a a lot of moving parts here orbiting self perception and projection and I want to be sensitive to your position while at the same time putting some perspective on it. Let me just say this: First... CONGRATS on getting to a gym. CONGRATS on making the effort and being motivated to step foot…
