Drop the splurges and cheats. Try to make it fit within the context of a week or a month. You can still live your life and lose weight.

When I get off track, it's usually because I get really insecure, and unsure about whether I will succeed, or if I will be able to keep it up for the next 50 years or so. I have used food as a coping mechanism before, and it's really hard to go through life without that crutch. I am not very confident in myself... I don't…

The way I see it, MFP is THE Freestyle system for life, without the Woo of zero point foods. Plus, it's free. :)

while it is visually appealing, they don’t look delicious to eat. looks like a pile of veg that would fall apart

i tried a pastry tip and it failed. it was too slow. the cherries are too firm

sprinkle of shredded mozarella, parmesean cheese, black pepper, chives. that's where it's at.

I enjoy fruit flavored sparkling water. There's no sugar or artificial sweeteners in them (not that I'm against). I also drink the Stevia Coke (green bottle). It's sweetened with a 50/50 blend of sugar and Stevia, if Asparatame makes you paranoid.

nature makes my tasty snacks. nuts, fruit. yum.

but why?
-
the fresh cherries are much less expensive!
-
hmm definitely a huge incentive to stay physically active
-
i pop a huge amount ( on the stove top) and then i divide into reasonable portions in ziplock bags

this is the worst advice ever. what would this watery cottage cheese taste like? yuch

wow, i didn't know fat chicks got catfished, but here I am!

My daughter is allergic to milk and eggs. While 99% of our desserts and treats are home-made, the moment I need a break or I need something in a pinch or we want something special (the way any kid would): - a vegan cupcake from a vegan bakery is $6 - A vegan chocolate cake is $20 for a 200 g package - A frozen vegan pizza…

Honestly, most restauarant food is surprisingly high in calories. I went out to dinner in an nicer chain restaurant. Roasted chicken dinner with veggies and baby potatoes was 1400 calories. How is that even possibe? A small serving of fries was 600 cals. Kale salad with grilled chicken was 1100 calories!! The portions dont…

I agree with the majority. You still have your whole life ahead of you the day after your wedding anniversary. You'll be celebrating a huge milestone but don't let it be overshadowed by your weight loss or lack thereof. Congrats on your upcoming big day and good luck with your weight loss.

With my first, I pumped exclusively for 18 months. Don't know how I did that! But, I was able to monitor my output quite easily. I ate at maintenance, I lost weight quite consistently at a rate of 1 pound per week, and my output did not suffer. If I dipped below maintenance, my output would decrease slightly.

Depends on the season/ time of year. Now: cherries! I eat nearly a pound per day. I also have pre-weighed baggies of various nuts. They're so delicious and nutritious but insanely calorie dense so I have to be very careful.

I practice intermittent fasting, or simply put, I skip breakfast on the weekends. Usually my two cups of coffee fills me up enough, and it allows me to have two decently sized meals throughout the rest of the day. I can't do cheat meals or cheat day, though. That *kitten* got my off the rails the first time around.

I realize it's about much more than the dieting world, but I do think it reinforces the victim mentality. In reality, we are all responsible for what we put in our bodies. The main character doesn't lose weight on a 1200 calorie diet. While it might be her perception, it is not reality. But, I do like the show. It shows…

I used the recipe builder tool to estimate the calories in my salad. I did this over several weeks and then I averaged the calorie number for my salads. It always ended up being roughly 200 calories with the salad dressing. I eat salad every single night and now I am confident that I know what 200 calories worth of salad…

As an atheist, I think you're advise is a little lost on me. But I appreciate the wisdom in it nonetheless :)

technically yes but i don’t use MFP as a guide as to the number of calories i should be consuming. i estimated that my average TDEE is 1850 based on working out 4 times per week. my calorie goal doesn’t change based on whether i work out on a specific day because it is already built in. it takes away the ‘using food as a…

I went back today and it felt great! I was able to lift my regular weights
-
You don't have to decide to go "all in" right at this very moment. You can aim for a 0.5 pound weight loss per week (as long as you realise you may not see it on the scale due to fluctuations). You can even choose to track your weight and calories but maintain for now. Maybe after a few months of doing this, you'll decide…

My lowest weight *ever* was 140 pds at 5'4". I think it looked quite right for me, but it was hard to maintain. The lower you go, the lower your TDEE. I am basing my optimal weight on the mid-point for a normal BMI, which should be somewhere in the 130's. That is my goal for now, but I know that whatever weight I decide…

I would like to start a lifting program, but I'm not on one unfortunately. I am waiting until I can get a personal trainer as I don't feel comfortable stepping into that area of the gym on my own and without knowledge of how to handle the equipment. For now, I go to Bodypump classes and I'm trying to perfect my form with…

cotton candy grapes! I am intrigued. Though I second the cherries. I've been eating half a pound of cheries a day. I'm a bit addicated. Also, frozen grapes. I just love summer!
