55 lbs to go over here. Clothes don't fit and the mirror lie (not to mention health-issues that go hand in hand with obesity!) Support away!.

Same over here! At 42, I have fibromyalgia, idiopathic hypersomnia, an arthritic knee, a ganglion cyst, and 55+ lbs to lose. I feel you!

:) With an introduction like that, how can I not desire to be on such a prestigious committee! Welcome from another former-slug-slug-no-more!

Thanks for the advice, Nuffer! Getting to the grocery store is my goal for tomorrow. After work, I am going to try to run in and grab a few good choices. I was going to the grocery store last night, but they put my step dad in the hospital, & I never made it there. I am not staying at the hospital since I live right here…

Fiyafox, I am working up to that method. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis in my knees in addition to being completely sedentary for the past two years. I have put on a ton of weight and any little physical exertion winds me or causes me quite a bit of pain right now. I just joined Planet Fitness yesterday. I have a…

Good advice, Ninerbuff! I would have liked a salad for lunch today, but I was trying to grab something I could eat while driving on the way to the hospital. I should have just grabbed the salad, and taking it up to the hospital room with me. I could have eaten it in his room while visiting. I think I'm just juggling too…

Evil Skors and Snickers! Shhh!!! I tend to be a binge eater, so I'm trying to avoid sugar like the plague! I had thought about the hard boiled egg or fruit options at the convenience store, but they didn't have anything like that in this particular one. The only refrigerator case options were those nasty sandwiches loaded…

And I didn't even think about subways new chopped salads! I tried one the other day and it was awesome! I really enjoyed it. I'm going to make a little cheat sheet of the healthiest options on all of my local fast food menus so I will have a quick reference when out and about, and don't have time to run into a grocery…

Thanks, Rooskie! The hospital's cafeteria was closed this evening. I didn't even think of it for lunch- I just grabbed something between church and the hospital. Sometimes, the most obvious choice is right in front of you!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply with hints and tips, Wiggle! I actually asked for wheat bread at Subway, but they were out, so I settled for the honey oat. I usually just add vinegar, no oil, but I'd already missed two meals, so I allowed the oil. I like mustard too-yum! Convenience stores are the worst! I was trying…

Hi Tara! Congratulations on your healthy goals and efforts too! I just got back from Planet Fitness, with my first time membership sign up. A personal trainer will be helping me come up with a specific workout plan just for me on Thursday! I am excited about starting this year right. Welcome!

About to head out the door to pick up my son from his dad's house. While I'm out, I am going to join Planet Fitness. Healthy me, here I come!

I don't believe the cauliflower and cabbage fall under the "white no-no's" category. That is just my way of keeping myself in check. Neither are starchy, although the cruciferous family can aggravate the thyroid. I have hypothyroidism, so I eat them only on occasion, as much as I love them!

I am in a very bad place in my life. I lost 75 pounds in 2011. I have put it all back on and then some. I was able to control my cravings and exercise my willpower to keep within calorie goals. I don't know exactly what motivated me or kept me on track all that time. I just did it. Now, Here I am again, feeling very guilty…

Hello, felicity! My name is Ericka, & I am 42 from Texas. I too have fibromyalgia, but I have not gotten serious about tackling it with diet yet. I experimented about a month ago just to see if I would notice results from a modified diet, & I was astonished at what I found. My pain was cut in half if not more just by…

I have 65 pounds to lose, myself. My goal, for now, is 120 pounds. An extra 10 wouldn't hurt me though. I am 42 years old, and only 5 feet tall. At 185 pounds, I am the biggest I have been in my entire life. This is a huge blow to my ego after losing 75 pounds back in 2011. I know I can do it again, but I have to want it…
