Sometimes you just aren't that hungry. Not sure you need to complicate more than that, especially as you state that this isn't normal. As much as I believe in getting all of your calories in, I am also a fan of the 'WHEN' approach - When Hungry, Eat Naturally. Happened to me yesterday in fact. I exercised (strength…

I have both the Charge HR and the Flex. The Charge HR is my daily band and it has everything I need. I have the Flex only because that the first tracker I purchased, but like Aliem, I use it occasionally when I am going on vacations or festivals where there is a high likelihood that I will be covered in dirt or just…

What sad news to read...I am sorry that this happened this you. And I cross my fingers that the future brings you the child you wish for. I would encourage you to keep at it. I was visiting family in the US for Christmas and realised that I was so far away from where I needed to weight-wise that it was just time to do…

I weigh in every single day as well. And I have a Fitbit Aria so it automatically gets transmitted to MFP. I prefer weighing every day for the reasons already mentioned here (numbers geek, correlating calories/nutrition/exercise with outcomes). But I think it takes some willpower not to get carried away with what the scale…

I've gone with eating back 35% of my calories (I just did some calculations this morning). By eating them back, for me that means that I have a pre- and post-workout snack. I might raise it to 50% after I meeting my Phase 1 goal, but by then I want to lose weight more slowly. I've been able so far to lose fat and not…

Thanks for your advice. It's a good point you make  I have a Fitbit, so it's helpful with tracking exercise and the amount of calories that I should be allowed to eat back. Right now I assume that Fitbit is about 25% off every single time, so I always deduct that automatically from whatever total it gives. And then…

Thanks for the reply! That is what I am doing today...more or less... So I won't mess with what seems to work

I tend to leave it all of the time and let my fitbit sync across to MFP. I do specify the type of exercise in Fitbit to keep track. So far there has been no double-counting. I do mostly spinning (2x a week), bodypump (3x a week), and then an intense weekend activity on top.

Thanks for this comment  I think part of the problem is that whenever someone says something like "a calorie isn't just a calorie, an apple is better than you than cake for weight loss", some people basically rush to start "shaming" that person, instead of a much more constructive comment like yours... Thanks for…

That feeling you get when one day you put on your favourite pair of jeans and realise that you can't wear them without a belt.

Generally supportive of what Lounmoun and TheBeachGod say. About 12 years ago I had drastic weight loss using Atkins (80 lbs). I ended up hating the experience. I have put back half that weight now, so I decided on South Beach Diet with some small adaptations that work for me: 1) When you live outside of the US, you learn…
