  • Thanks! I'm giving intermittent fasting a try for a couple of days to see if I can get my eating back under control...I can feel it slipping away. That's how I lost 60 lbs a couple of years ago, but I'm not positive I can do it again. I'm hungry already and it's only 6:30.
  • Week 3 for me too... - lose 2 lbs - journal food every day - 17,000 steps every day - yoga once - cardio twice
  • I'm afraid I didn't do too well on my commitments. I did journal every day but I only worked out with weights twice and didn't do yoga or cardio at all. On average I got about 16,000 steps/day, so that wasn't too bad. And I lost just over 2 lbs, so that's good.
  • I'm in kind of a similar situation (without the six pack!). I lost 60 lbs two years ago, kept it off for a year and then since August have put 20 back on because of simply eating way too much. I've gotten myself back in control after reading (and following) recommendations in a fantastic book, so that book is my…
  • ErinKay...Good for you for resisting the cinnamon rolls! 12 hour shifts sound brutal. I've spent a lot of time at the hospital over the last year, and I just don't know how the nurses do it, and always with a smile on their faces. You people are heroes. I managed to lose more than 2 lbs last week, despite succumbing to the…
  • I didn't have such a good weekend. Way less exercise than I usually get, and I got into treats last night. I still can't have them in the house. I was overly optimistic about my ability to resist them. Oh well. It's a new week. Bulk cooking is a great idea. I need to do that. Maybe some beef stew.
  • I've been counting steps for almost two years and I love it...it's made a huge difference. I am hugely motivated to get steps. I think of it as more of an anti-couch-potato metre than anything else. (It's not something forgotten in another room, it's an opportunity to get more steps). For more than a year I got 15,000…
  • Hi, David...I'm paying attention! I'm tracking steps and using a Fitbit too. I'm impressed with all the cycling you do. And treats are important. You probably need more calories on your cycle days. Good luck!
  • Congratulations to you both. I have no idea what a "shred" is, but it sounds impressive, and painful. And sticking to the plan at poker is a huge accomplishment! I'm really using this group for accountability. Last night I needed 3,000 more steps to get my 17,000 in and I really didn't want to do them. But I thought, I…
  • Dr. Yoni Freedhoff, author of The Diet Fix (the book/program I'm following), says many, many smart things including this, "The roles of food, as a pleasure, a comfort, and a social pillar, are part of the very fabric of the human condition, and if it's cheating to be human, well, that's a big problem." So, emotional…
  • Hi, everyone. Thanks so much for setting this up, Steve.
