  • For me, if I am not hungry then I don't crave the 'bad' foods. I guess the default food for me was oats. Just good old, Quaker Harvest Oats. Easy to make, you can make savoury or sweet types (mmm cinnamon) add seed and nuts or just buy the ready weighed, flavoured pots from the supermarkets. There are even gluten free ones…
  • Yep. Everything worked out. Weight loss stalled for a couple of weeks at some point as far as I remember. Appetite returned to normal, trust in your hunger ;)
  • If you are heavy then that will definitely impact the workout. Perhaps, leave off until feeling less drained.
  • My set up is to aim for 20% Protein, 30% Fat and 50% carbs throughout the day. That basically means 150-200g of meat (or 2 eggs) plus a BIG pile of greens or a little pile of pasta for lunch and repeat again for dinner. I use the MyFitnessPal iPhone app and this has a really nice nutritional information button at the…
  • I agree with ^^^ Bluepegasus. TOM just affects my motivation to go training and how I want to eat carbs all day long. Other than that it's business as usual. I think once you get used to the different speed of the exercise than what you are used to, i think you'll be kicking it.....hard!! :)
  • PS have really taken on board what has been said about the "eating what you like" advice that I was given. I won't be doing that :)
  • I think I am in love with you all and MFP too!! Thank you so much for all your advice, it really has been very helpful. I have now manually set my calories a snack higher and will continue to monitor as the mileage goes up. Will be abiding totally with what has been said and love you all for the support <3
  • Thank you guys this is all so helpful. I'm being a stress bunny and you guys are really calming me down. :)
  • That's really useful information. Thank you.
  • OK I have manually upped my calorie intake by a snack meal each day (230 Kcal). Over the week that should equate to the missing calories after my long run. I will keep a close eye on this. Thank you so much for your help :)
  • I feel kind of stupid, it seems pretty basic. I have never been able to maintain in the past and I am determined to get it right to achieve my goals. Thank you for your help and support :)
  • Thank you Sjomial :) It is very true that on my long run days there is no way I am able to eat back all the calories. Seriously it's like 4000 calories combined for the run and my normal calorie intake. Even with a nice bottle of wine and eating when I like, it's just not possible (I have tried). So I just need to bite the…
  • It's kind of in the OP but "a small tub" of "heavy cream". How big a tub and what is Heavy Cream. I don't think we call it that in the UK. Could it be Double cream?
  • Could someone get back to the recipe please hahaha. I will make the decision about what fat I want to put in the soup, I'm a big girl and can make those types of decisions. But where do I find the recipe??? It sounds delicious :)
  • I have been amazed at what a life saver Oat So Simple pots have been for me. I had Caramel flavour today and it was LOVELY!! Filling and balanced snack.
  • I agree whole heatedly with the comments above, but I understand your problem of finding the time to eat all those extra calories :) It will get easier and more fun. I thought perhaps this video might be motivational and educational too. https://youtu.be/aUaInS6HIGo I thought this was a really helpful 9 min video…
  • Seriously laughing so hard at this thread. It's odd for me. Seems cultural. In Europe most spas are naked. So everyone is in the saunas and steam rooms naked. It does seem more awkward being naked in England. Not naked in an English spa obviously, that would just be so so wrong
  • I was asking the exact same question last week :(
  • I'm always happy to yell and I sometimes need yelling at myself. Friend me if you like :)
  • I would follow the advice on MFP in the edit diet / fitness section. You put in your weight, your goal weight and how many times you are going to exercise a week and for how long, and you tell it how much weight you want to loose a week. MFP works out how many calories you should be eating to achieve that and how long it…
  • This thread is hysterical, i am loving it
  • I stole this from my FB feed (I am not a registered nurse....Shirley is) This picture helps to visualise what the problem is, and the video shows what you can do to help....It really isn't as much as you think you need to do :) Shirley Mast 18 January at 17:36 · As a registered nurse, I'd often see in my patients (and in…
  • I am in London and happy if you would like to connect. I was Insanity cardio fit 3 months ago, fell off the wagon in November 2015 and started eating cake over Xmas :( Luckily, the weight is off now but fitness for my new goal is paramount! Now I have a goal to be part of a team doing an Ultra marathon in 2017. Having…
  • London here. Yay, we can talk in Stones, miles run and toast with marmite as an excellent post work out snack :) Happy if you want to add :)
  • Is there any chance you can take toddler for a walk to the park and walk around whilst they are playing. 20-30 minutes of walking a day has massive benefits for a start and longer walks give better health gains. I do a 7 minute workout. It is a free App on my phone (search JnJ 7 minute workout, it is a red icon with a…
  • ooh yes that is better :)
  • Well I'm no expert but I think this is what you want. Go to settings at the top of the page in the white section (between help and log out) Click on Update Diet / Fitness profile and you can change your current weight there. Hope this helps :)
  • It's just one day in the rest of your life, don't feel bad about it, accept and move on. Be happy you have made the choice to live a healthier life and you are sticking to it. Well Done YOU!!
  • I'm sure it will work itself out and this is just a down turn of hunger that will come crashing back soon. I'm a great believer in listening to my body so if it's hungry I will eat. Not eyeballing anything. It's all weighed and logged. I love the barcode scanner, it means I get the real values :) No medication being taken,…
