  • Wow thats impressive, you approached a 1/2 ton of TNT...enough to take out a city block! Good work! Now if we could reliably convert any matter (besides uranium and plutonium) into energy, we could use E=mc^2 as an equation and really get some huge numbers!! Anyone around here go supernova??? :-)
  • NIce. I've also discover that measuring it as TNT (as opposed to dynamite sticks) is also fun. By definition, 1 gram of TNT explosive is 1 Calorie (kilo-calorie). Because 1 ton of TNT is 1 megagram, a ton of TNT equates out to 1,000,000 Calories or about 285 pounds. I bet there are people around here who have lost that…
  • Half-sour dill pickles -- huge, tasty, and 5 calories for each spear. You can't munch on more than a couple of these before your stomach explodes!
  • This is nearly identical to me, except that I've lost 35 lbs and I don't exercise at all -- at all. Like somebody else here said about exercise -- you can't outrun your fork. The fact that you want to exercise 5-6 times a week is great, but if that ends up take too much willpower, don't worry. It's all just CICO.
  • I second this. Based on your profile picture (which tells me age, sex, rough weight), I'm going to guess your BMR is probably around 1600 calories. If you are moving around at all during the day, you are probably burning an extra 500. At 2100 calories of output everyday, to lose 1 lb a week, you should be eating 1600…
  • I've lost the first 30 of 90 and what is keeping me sane is to not think of this as a diet. I am not on a diet, I am in an educational process where I am finally learning what proper sleep and food looks and feels like. It's not a project, it's not phase, it's not some special time in my life. Because of this, there is…
  • I am new here, but I would say this. Forget about being motivated....and forget about having goals. Totally punt on willpower. Just do this one thing: Honestly and accurately log what you eat. Don't try and be a better person, don't try and be super healthy, super sexy --- or whatever. Don't go hungry, don't ever trust in…
  • It's fine as long as you think it through ahead of time. You need to check out the calories before you order. I eat out every day due to a busy work schedule. In my experience, if you try to use common sense you can easily fail. For example, wraps are healthy, right? McDonald's premium McWrap is 640 calories!! Salads are…
