I like walking. My favorite thing to do on vacation is to walk around a new city. But for weight loss I've had more luck with increasing metabolism through HIIT and building muscle mass. I suspect there are synergies there---if your metabolism is higher you burn more calories when you walk.

I've found Pellegrino really cuts down on my cravings. I guess that's because they're largely psychological and sparkling water gives me about the same mouth pleasure as diet soda. (Or maybe the bubbles trick my stomach into thinking I've actually eaten something.)

For me, the most important factor in a gym is convenience, as in location, location, location. Is it near places I'll otherwise be going (or want to go)? Actually getting to the gym is the most important part of your workout.

I usually ask those people if they're using that machine. Works like a charm, as they get the hint and move. I don't think most people who do this are intentionally being rude, they're just not paying attention.

I'm about to go on keto. Any recommendations? I've done quite a bit of reading on it I know you have to up your water/salt intake to avoid the keto flu. Any other suggestions? As a practical matter, how strictly do you have to follow the WOE after you achieve ketosis? Do you have to be that guy/woman who can't get pizza…
