  • Yes you'll need to use the website and a computer, not the app but the directions above are correct. I plan to print a few samples to show my doctor at my next check up:)
  • I wish I had the money for a bike. Walks are nice but the breeze in my face would be amazing.
  • Noooo, Ghost needs to devour him. It's the best way to achieve both a dead Ramsey and a little revenge for the dire wolves. Im expecting we will see Nymeria again soon too, there was an interesting theory that when Arya sent her away Nymeria went to join up with more dire wolves and perhaps will bring a large group with…
  • I was going to get a sugary sweet latte from Dutch bros. Been looking forward to it for a few days, Friday is my day to purchase coffee and every few weeks it's a latte versus Americano. Buuuuuut I'm honestly feeling like I could have a bigger dinner or a cooler treat that I can eat versus drink. So I do not yet know what…
  • Your body will hold onto water for many reasons, and release for many reasons. Hormones, new or more challenging exercise, and sudden changes to diet can all cause water loss or retention. Your first few weeks of any diet change your body tends to let go of a lot of water weight and will produce a quick loss for the first…
  • You don't need motivation, you need dedication to your goals and methods. Im not "motivated", I'm determined! Count your calories and do it accurately and it works. When you clear out all the hype you're left with the truth, follow it and you get where you want to be.
  • I have several old Navy shirts, I do adore them.
  • As in, you don't have sex? Cause even with birth control methods, there is just nothing that is 100% unless you don't have the parts necessary. But I could never drink coffee before a workout, I would certainly vomit. It's the vomit with no workout that is the confusing one. I used to throw up after drinking cold water, I…
  • I see big bags at my local grocer for only $10, if they're not affordable for you there's no reason you have to eat them. There are no "super foods"
  • I lost a friend over my weight loss. She was always commenting, telling me to slow down, I was going to burn myself out. Eventually she was indeed correct, I did, but her negativity really pushed me to it. If she'd just kept her thoughts to herself instead of berating me with them daily I might have listened. This time I…
  • I do have issues with whey/dairy protein powders as well. All the vegan ones I have tried aren't great tasting, but I feel that way about most protein powder in general.
  • If you want to be 100% go for all of them and count them all. I never did subtract fiber or sugar alcohols when I did low carb because it was my understanding that those things do indeed still impact the body in different ways. But people do both, so try it either way you prefer and assess results.
  • Most people start by eating back half, and seeing how it goes. Even calculators can have errors. Better to be on the safe side for a few weeks then assess results.
  • I'm guessing she means the whole entire logging and counting calories part. Pretty essential, especially to those of us who got overweight. If you were always a healthy weight then the no counting method makes sense. I'd venture to say many of us need to learn appropriate portions and what the actual calorie count is.
  • I think you will find that you get used to it the longer you go without it. I indulge in one purchased coffee drink a week, but I always get a small one. In fact I'm due for a Dutch Bros carmelizer ASAP :) Keep paring it down, and eventually it won't feel like you're missing out daily. That, and coffee is an acquired taste…
  • Let me be your word of caution. I lost my 100lbs in much less than a year. More like 8-9 months. I gained back half very quickly once I couldn't keep up with my extreme methods any longer. This time I'm doing it slow and adding strength training. Exercising for health not for extra calories to eat. Do it slow so it's for…
  • I say throw in body weight squats and lunges. Holy crap, can't tell you how much of a difference I already see, just two weeks in. I do it only 2 days a week and I know it's just me losing fat (not gaining muscle) but my legs are slimmer and I can feel my muscles much more easily beneath my skin. That and pilates. I swear…
  • If I were you I'd focus on a minimum of protein and then whatever else you'd like spread across your calories. With your lifting you'll want to be sure to be getting adequate protein. The rest shouldn't matter much.
  • My advice is to learn to love it. Find a way to enjoy the process. I won't be able to lose without logging, I know this about myself. If this is going to work for you you'll need to find a way to find a little joy or at least not have a negative experience. I was having a really frustrating time with it all until I shelled…
  • Well, it's just bothersome. We are not a huge community, so just remember for next time that one area will do. The "food" forum would make the most sense given your question. Cross posting isn't going to be penalized but it's just a courtesy you're now learning. And now you know.

  • I've never once heard of gluten being called an essential part of any diet. Gluten isn't required. I mean, any gluten sensitive or celiac can attest to the fact that they're better without it- for life. You do not *need* gluten. I'm laughing a lot actually. None of the nutrients in wheat are exclusive to wheat alone, and…
  • I am not sure where you're from but I so wish American labels looked like this! I'd love to see everything in simple 100g serving sizes :)
  • I wanted to do the same, I closed my account and made a new one. From what I saw it was the only way to do it, I found. I could be wrong but it worked :) I used the same email immediately after deletion to create a new one. But it did move all my friends over which I found funny. Must have been linked to my email.
  • My doctor did advise me about added sugars, but did not say anything about reducing natural sugars from fruits or veggies. I feel like those with the fiber are much better for blood sugar than something with added sugars.
  • Go for shots. Straight liquor is lower calorie than beer and cocktails.

  • This is incorrect. There are a multitude of entries that are done by weight. You just have to keep lookong. And you can't do it by weight without a food scale, I mean how could you?? This is why pasta and rice are important to weigh while dry, you can't really guess how much water it will absorb. My cooked rice is slightly…
  • Your husband is my hero! Mine once asked me how many calories I had left, then made a cheese plate. He brought me an exact 28g portion :)
  • Waaaaah no dont. There's no need to cut out carbs. Seriously. Think of the first month as practice and the learning curve, it takes time to get used to all the logging rules and how to be sure you're actually only eating 1800. Get yourself a quality food scale and make absolutely sure that's all you're eating. You could be…
