Ack! There's a length limit on posts. Lol. I wanted to wish you well. May you end 2017 in a healthier place then you're starting at. You can do this. Baby steps and lots of grace with yourself.

Hi bbell. The short answer to your question is yes. Since Jan 1 of this year I have lost weight while be under a horrendous amount of stress. There are some specific things I did that have allowed that to happen. First, I made an active decision that this year I had to focus on my health. Inspite of having kids,…

I only charted when we were trying to get pregnant and thought waiting 6 months was too long. LOL Boy was I young back then. :p I do keep track on my calendar though so I know how long my cycles are, etc. Not sure if this will help anyone elses hormones but I have noticed that putting my girls and myself on high doses of…

I was told yes, that any bleeding at cycle time is considered a period when one is in peri menopause. Any bleeding outside of cycle time (with the exception of ovulation spotting b/c some people do) is not normal and should be checked. Not sure if I should believe that or not (came from a CNP) but that's what she said.

Totally in peri right now. I'm 46 and really started noticing symptoms last year. Have not missed any cycles yet but sure look forward to it! Mostly the length of my cycle has changed but I also have two teen girls that tend to mess with my cycle hormonally. I use to be like clock work 29 days. Now I'm all over the map…

I was very cautious at thanksgiving. I used a smaller plate, I watched my portion sizes very carefully. If it seemed like a "half" portion, I cut it down in half again. So I was very careful. For the heck of it I decided to log everything and see how I did. I cooked everything I ate (didn't eat what others brought). I did…

I was very cautious at thanksgiving. I used a smaller plate, I watched my portion sizes very carefully. If it seemed like a "half" portion, I cut it down in half again. So I was very careful. For the heck of it I decided to log everything and see how I did. Thanksgiving dinner - 1666 calories!!! If I had not had a piece of…

I have noticed the biggest loss in my baby apron. I have huge babies and being overweight for 10 years has not helped. I'm close to a 20# loss and most of it has come off of my belly apron. Looking at one of my sister's that had the same thing I'm fairly certain mine will continue to go away as I lose. Her belly is…

Started my Thanksgiving morning by discovering I'd lost a pound. :-) My goal is to make it through the holiday with at least *some* loss - even if it's ounces. Back to lifting on Monday (my thigh muscle seems healed). Not sure about treadmill as my PF is still really bad. I'll see.

I want to be careful here. But words mean things so I want what I'm quoted as saying to be accurate. I didn't say "if he THINKS they work." I said if he "feels a difference then he feels a difference." I do not mean placebo by that. We are all wired a bit different with different needs and he may in fact feel better on…

When I can do cardio (treadmill) I average 11,000 a day (includes my workout plus regular walking during the day). When I can't do cardio (which is right now - injured) I average 7000-7500 per day. I use a Misfit Shine to track.

You know what? No matter what other people say about supplements, if you notice a difference, you notice a diffrence. We are all individuals and have different physical needs. As far as b's go, keep in mind that your b6 and b12 needs will be greater then what's in your gummy. Yes, those are the main b's that will affect…

I have specific things I buy online. I use Azure Standard but I believe they only have delivery drops in the NW (USA). I might be wrong. They may be nationwide now, not sure. I buy all of my shampoos, handsoap, body soaps, etc. online at VitaCost because they are much cheaper then buying from the store here. If I'm…

I don't take BCAA but I do know people that do and swear by them with working out. I was wondering if the tired (muscle weary) could indicate a need for more B vitamins? As we get older (sorry, don't know how old you are), we absorb less B vitamins from our food. They are water soluable so the body flushes out what we…

Thanks. I'm hoping the rest helps. I've tried 3 different new pairs of shoes for the PF. I've been mildly successful with one. I'm going to look at others this week and see if I can find a better pair. I can already feel my pulled muscle improving so that at least makes me feel better about missing lifting. I worry mostly…

I would second trying the dandelion tea. It can't hurt and tends to strip water from me. Coffee is a diuretic as well. Drinking mega tons of water and really watching sodium intake.

I am taking this week off of lifting. Three weeks ago I developed plantars faciitis in my right foot from pushing hard on the treadmill (I usually lift then treadmill for 45min to an hour). I stopped the cardio and kept lifting to allow my foot time to heal (it still hasn't). Today, I discovered a wonderful pulled muscle…

THIS! I have wondered the exact same thing. When I workout 4 days a week I always weigh more. When I get to the weekend and do no workouts I actually weigh less but usually eat more then I do during the week. What the hay? I figured it had something to do with water weight and muscles but it still makes no sense to me. :p…

She said they removed splenda and her joint pain went away. While that's not a "true" elimination diet, it's enough information for her to know she shouldn't use it. However, I doubt it's maltodextrine because 1) it's made from corn and in just about stinking everything. 2) If her joint pain completely went away and she's…

My family doctor does, but he's also a DO so he had several years of nutrition beyond medical school. At least in the circles I run in, doctors tend to deal with elimination diets that are being done for the purpose of determining food allergies. My BIL is an MD. He said when someone comes to him with health problems that…

I have lurked here for awhile - just reading mostly. I am 46. I homeschool(ed) our kids. Graduated one last year, have one graduating May 2017, and one that just started high school. I decided that 2016 I was going to focus on getting healthy. I have always put family and house first but I really wish I had been more…

Really? So if an MD suggested an elimination diet and they figured out it was splenda, it's valid? But if an ND, chiro or some other alternative doctor suggests an elimination diet and they figured out it was splenda, that's not valid? A person can be allergic to splenda. It's just like any other allergy. I blood tested…

Partially true in my case! The sag hides the cut underneath from my reduction surgery. :D
-
Blech! Oh well. Still worth building the muscles anyway. I think I'll keep deluding myself to think I can change it just to make myself feel better. LOL ;)
-
I know building pec muscles won't make cup size bigger, but can it help with sagging? That bugs me more then cup size at this point.
-
I had a reduction 20+yrs ago. I was 140lbs when I went into surgery (with a 34 F/G) and came out of surgery 130lbs - large B/small C. They took 10#'s. :o I was never so happy as that day. Gaining weight has put me at a 38D. I've actually lost a band size with the first 15#'s and I'm still losing band size. I don't tend to…

From the description of your reaction you may actually be allergic to sugar. I tested allergic to cane sugar a number of years ago. It would give me a very similar reaction to what you're describing. We eat a fairly whole foods diet. If I eat "crap" I will feel lethargic and just generally blase for a few days while my…

I eat a macro of 40-50% fat per day. I lose well on that and am satiated with it. Sounds like you're using good sources as well.
-
I eat the same as my family, I just eat much smaller portions. My husband is tall and slender and I have three teens. They all eat like crazy. I just make sure to weigh everything. My kids are old enough that I have them write stuff down as I'm serving dinner and weighing everything.

Interesting. It really does vary by the person. For some reason I thought I remembered reading a first on/off thing but maybe I misread it. So far, I've lost mostly from my hips, butt and thighs, which is totally fine with me! I'd love to lose some off my chest though. I guess I shouldn't complain since I'm losing it where…
