We are just beginning to venture into kids leaving home mode. My oldest graduates in a month and I have another right on her heels to graduate. The third still has a few yeas. The thought of them leaving home is hard but I'm looking to go back to school myself so I think it provides me some "comfort" that I will be busy.…

Can't speak from the tummy experience but I can from the collagen end. My 18yr old DD has issues with not enough collagen which causes her to scar badly and not heal well at all. We put her on high potency omega fish oils, EPO (evening primrose oil), methylated B vitamins (as opposed to cynacobalamine b's), no artificial…

He wants you to get your D to 20? :o Can I suggest you do some research on your own? Newer standards suggest that a healthy D that will help prevent illness is closer to 70! I've been taking 10,000ius a day of D3 for 5+ years and *still* have only gone from 19 to 55. Might be worthwhile to do some reading and question your…

I actually had to deal with some anger towards my husband in this way. Really irritated me that my weight mattered at all (even a little bit). But let's be honest, gaining *some* weight is one thing when you're married, gaining a ton is a total other. I had to get over that and realize if the tables were turned I would…

For me, age has meant mostly ME slowing down so I don't lose as fast. I am also perimenopausal (I'm 46) and have found it harder only in that I have to eat less as my caloric requirement is definitely less. I also have to keep my thyroid meds absolutely spot on. If my thyroid moves down and I don't catch it right away, I…

I believe that the higher you go the more apps you can sync with them. Not 100% sure but when I researched mine I think I remember that being the difference. I love my Shine.
-
Can you tell me how to sync it? Or is it not worth it? I have MFP on my phone so I can pull it up but my activity/steps doesn't transfer from my Misfit to MFP automatically (and I'm not sure if that's a good idea anyway). Do you like having them sync?
-
These are so good I ended up printing them out to rotate writing them on my bathroom mirror. Really appreciate all of these!!
-
Oh bummer! I just ordered a sample box from amazon tonight in the hopes I'll like them. :P I guess we'll see!
-
I LOVE these!
-
So, back to the original question because my Misfit does not synch with MFP (at least that I've figured out). I do not add back in for my steps taken but I also don't hit 10K steps everyday. I only add exercise steps if I actually go for a walk. I would rather not add them in and have that "buffer." So for those that don't…

Girl! Look at you go! While surgery is an option, you just proved to yourself you can do it without it. Way to go!

I did really well on IF. I did a loose window of 11:00-7:00ish or 8:00. Sometimes starting later/ending later. I haven't done it in awhile but I may go back to it b/c I think it may help me stay within range better. I HAVE to eat before I go to bed or I can't sleep. IF worked well for me that way. Glad to see this bumped.…

I *prefer* working out in a gym but it is not an option for me right now. We're in the final push of school for the year (I homeschool) and I'm graduating my first kid in May. She's cramming to get through algebra right now. :-) I love algebra, she hates it. LOL I've been walking mid-day once I get the kids taught and with…

I think you should garden! :-) Besides growing your own food, there is so much enjoyment in the work of it. We raised our kids this way. They have gardened a large garden with us their entire lives. Harvested, scrubbed, frozen, and canned everything. For some reason, we wanted them to know where their food came from and…

I have a very close friend that followed the meat only diet and still largely does. It's been about a year now. Initially, she only did meat (always cooked). She mostly did chicken because of cost. She went through a horrid detox rash for about a month after she started. Once the rash went away she didn't have anymore…

I have a Misfit Shine that was only $50. It might sync with MFP but I haven't done that yet if it does. It's very accurate with steps, sleep, and activity. I really like it. Once in awhile I wish it would sync with MFP but not enough for me to sit down and figure it out. :-) You might look at cheaper options to start out.…

I already provided it above. You apparently didn't read....http://www.mpwhi.com/peer_reviewed_research.htm

Homemade is great! Annie's Tomato Soup if you're in a hurry.

I don't do them daily but I do add them to smoothies for the extra protein/fat. We have chickens so I know how they are fed, cleaned, etc. Not sure I'd do it with store eggs but in general, I don't have issue with raw eggs. I would probably be careful though if I wasn't 100% sure of what the conditions were and where they…

John Welk, apparently you didn't want to take the time to read through every single study from the list of peer reviewed studies I posted. They are not all anti-artificial sweetener if you read through them. But then again, I should have known you really didn't want them posted. You just wanted to get your point across.…
-
Nor do you know mine or what I've been through. I can say the exact same thing in return here. One thing the internet does not provide is tone of voice or inflection.
-
Let's hope your ignorance never catches up with you. You are rude beyond comprehension.
-
I never said someone was going to die from artificial sweeteners. I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten foot pole. The risk vs. benefit of them is questionable at best and dangerous/unhealthy at worst. But again, it's a free country. Knock yourself out with them.
-
This ought to keep you busy enough reading for a few weeks. http://aspartame.mercola.com/sites/aspartame/studies.aspx (here's pages and pages of studies done - and not by mercola - he just listed them out).…

This is absolutely untrue. If you people think that only "scientists" can do any worthwhile research you are deluded. I hope to God some day your kid's lives don't depend on you being able to "research" according to your standards. My kid is only alive today because of the amount of research we had to do to save his life.…

I've been taking armour thyroid for 8 years. I've never listened to the "take without food" thing. I take mine right after eating breakfast and with all my other supplements (including a calc/mag supplement). I started on 180mg and with a lot of work at healing my thyroid I'm down to 90mg, so apparently it hasn't hurt me…

Will likely never completely recover full pancreas function but still way better then it was 15yrs ago. Thanks. The responses don't surprise me at all. This website is so over medical is almost makes me sick. But it's a weight loss site and I keep that perspective. I try to keep my eyes on CICO and try to stay too much out…
