Confucious say: He who goes to bed with itchy butt wakes up with smelly finger! Duck who fly upside down have quack-up!

I don't think you realize how much motivation you just gave me. Wow. Will be sending you a friend request.

I cannot believe the first post was for my team! This rocks- War Eagle!!!!

Any accomplishment that is in the mind as much as on the scale is worth noting as an NSV. Good going, taziwac!
-
NSV is a Non Scale Victory. For those accomplishments and milestones you can't measure on a scale. By the way, I asked the same thing when I first came- it is NOT a stupid question! :)
-
Awesome NSV, gpstrucker! Doesn't it feel great?

Fake a sneeze on his plate.

Just to be clear- are you wanting to lose 15 pounds or 150 pounds, is it a different number? I lost 16 pound in 9 weeks just by eating better and taking up walking and running.
-
I think that is the key for me- not being bored to keep my mind off the food. I need to just stay busy.

One is "disabled from", and "unable to..." Being fat, which I am, makes one UNable to go up stairs, not disabled from going up stairs. Victim mentality at its worst.

I am not having any pain except for my left knee, which has only recently begun acting up. My right knee is fine. I am going to get a knee brace- I think the ligaments and muscles are just stronger in my right leg. I can bear weight with no problem, it is just sore and tender, but when I extend it all the way it yells at…

I did this time! A week ago I could not do W5D3 completely. I did 10 minutes of my 20 minute run, walked for 2 minutes, then walked 10. Two days later, I did 14 minutes and walked 2, and then finished the final six. Yesterday evening I did the whole enchilada , plus one minute. I think nothing of running the rest of the…

The problem with that is that far too often the body interprets thirst as hunger. Drink when you are hungry is also good advice to follow.

Yes, yes, yes. Water makes a huge difference. And no, fruits and veggies, while wonderful to eat, especially in their raw states (if cleaned properly), they are not water replacements. Water helps pull toxins out of your body, flush out excess sodium and potassium (electrolyte balance) among other things. When you run, you…

Well, the need to run is becoming the ability to run. I ran Week 5 Day 3 plus one minute. Ran it. No walking. Walked 5 to warm up, ran 21 minutes, cooled off for 2 or 3 minutes. I can't believe I did it. I am serious. I'm stunned at how far I've come in 6 weeks. I meant to turn on my pedometer, but I think it was 1.6 miles…

This was/is a big deal- these three things hit me, just boom-boom-boom, and they really gave me a TON of motivation. You think you are moving along and changes are not occurring, but then one day you wake up and see the results of your hard work and dedication. MFP has been the difference for me, more so than my Weight…

Thank you!

I do not collect action figures or comics, but I love the Superman shield, and the whole persona and essence of Superman, and his ideals ("...truth, justice, and the American way..."). The shield is iconic. My avatar is an image of what may be the official shield used for the movies, though the shield on the suit is more…

Iron sharpens iron! I am so glad I could be an encouragement to you! Friend me if you wish!

I have been tracking and following the MFP plan for six weeks now. I am a Weight Wathcers member at my work, and go to the the meetings, but the daily calorie goals fit me better. I am allowed 69 "points plus" per day, not including my exercise points or my bonus 49 points. It is way too much food for me, so I follow the…

I weighed in today at my Weight Watchers meeting today. I am now at just over 10% of the total amount I want to lose. I just need to do this nine more times! It's taken me nine weeks. So I have 81 weeks left to go to meet my goal, maybe sooner, but 81 weeks is just a year and a half!

I have been there, but if you keep putting it off, it gets worse. Then you become so large that it requires more dedication than motivation. In the words of the old Nike slogan: Just Do It.

W5D2: Today's C25K was for 8/5/8. I accidentally walked 6 instead of 5 but I ran the full 8 minutes both times. Very, very, difficult for me. I will repeat this day- there's no way I can do a full 20 minute run. I think I am going to do another 8/5/8, then create my own interval of 9/4/9, then 10/3/10, and then 12/2/12,…

I do C25K also, and I have to run outside because of my inner ear issues. I tried to run C25K on the treadmill, and I have nearly hurt myself twice. Part of the reason, along with my balance, is that my treadmill is a Bowflex Treadclimber. The Treadclimber has two narrow foot tracks instead of one wide track, so I misstep…
