How many days in a row?
An interesting question was posed this morning on my MFP wall- who on MFP has logged on the most consecutive days in a row? A friend of mine has logged on for 490 days straight, another one 685. I have logged on for a measly 255 straight days. How about you? How many days straight have you logged in as of right now…

Homemade Obstacle Course
Hey all, Does anyone have any homemade obstacle courses they have built? I am thinking of building one for two reasons- one, my son, who is already pretty fit, will be going to basic training next year and wants to get fit. Second, I want it for my self as well so I get fit with him as he trains. I'd like a course similar…

Roku Net Fitness Channel
So I am perusing my Roku box for exercise programs. I found a NetFitness channel and did the first Bootcamp workout on it this morning. I found it to be moderately challenging, really liked it. It was a 15 minute video of cardio workouts. My only complaint was the minute and a half commercial dead in the middle of the…

Dollywood and big guys
Not a good section for this, so I am posting it here: I'm worried about an upcoming trip to Dollywood (in two weeks). Last time I went there were several rides I could not fit on. I think I now weigh a little less than I did then. Does anyone here know about the girth limits of some of the rides? It would really suck to…

My best running NSV ever
Now for most of you, this is small potatoes, but guess who leaped from running a half mile two days ago to a full mile today? THIS GUY- ME. I did it- and what a rush it was to make a goal I have been chasing for a year and a half! The only pause I took was to check my phone at a half mile to make sure I was fully at my…

What if Your Boss Tracked Your Sleep, Diet, and Exercise?
Inside most companies, the typical health and wellness program includes regular blood pressure checks, a list of fresh foods for the office fridge, and some sort of exercise guru who shows up every so often to tell people they should work out more. If you’re lucky, you might even get some coupons designed to encourage…

HRM and fitness vs fat burn
I got on the treadmill last night. This was my first walk with the HRM on. I typically walk 3.5 mph, but I quickly learned this walking speed puts my heart rate in the fitness range. I had to slow the pace down to 1.1 mph to get my heart rate in the fat burning range. I walked 30 minutes in fat burning mode (for 320…

Quick gains
I started working out in our work gym five weeks ago. Two weeks into weight training I got sick with probably the worst bout of ear infection, sinus, and bronchitis I've ever had. Had to quit working out for three weeks while I was medicated and sick. Got back to it this past Monday. A little sore, but not nearly as sore…

New Borooks Ghost 5 Ruuning Shoes
Got them yesterday- really like them. My goal is to lose 20 more pounds and transition from walking to jogging/running and get back on C25K. My doctor said I had to get down below 300 before I could safely run. With a new gym available at work, I am so on my way. And get this- the building where I work is actually four…

Beginner Weight Trainer question
Ok, so I'm a big guy, right? I weigh 320 (now). I began a workout routine at our work gym this week. I have only worked out twice (Monday and Wednesday). Tuesday, in between workouts, I walked 2 miles, in one mile increments. I have been eating back my exercise calories, and I have been watching what I eat (except dinner…

Walking outside vs treadmill
Hello all, I notice a huge amount of difference in the calorie calculation between my treadmill (Treadclimber by Bowflex) and walking outside. I walk on locked treads, 2% incline. 40 minutes on the Treadclimber yields 600 calories, based on my weight and speed. On my app, shows 450 calories for the same time. Are both…

Sad but nice NSV
I am sad to say that as of now I will have to stop wearing my wedding ring, because it has fallen off my finger twice today as I am wearing it. It was my daddy's wedding ring, so I have taped it up with band aids so I won't lose it. 36 pounds into my 157 pound goal, and so many more changes to go. This was a biggie for me.

HRMs
I have gone through the forums and looked at several topics, but can't find quite what I am looking for. I want a Heart Rate Monitor. Met My Thanksgiving Goal
As the folks on my friends list here know, I met my Thanksgiving goal. On May 24 of this year, I had a goal to lose 40 pounds by Thanksgiving. I weighed in yesterday, and I made it- 40.2 pounds. I need to do what I have already done just three more times to meet my ultimate goal of 157 pounds lost. Woo-hoo!
