Wow! Thank you all so much. I think I am going to look into the Starting Strength as well.. and regardless, do 3x5 instead of 5x5 (that did sound like a bit much to me). Going to re-read your comments and do some more research. Your suggestions are all incredibly helpful because I am so new at this!

Good Morning, everyone! Yesterday and last night in general was a success for me. I managed to stick to my calories, and make healthy choices, even while out to eat with family last night! I chose a restaurant where I knew I had options and stuck to it! I felt pretty good about that because I usually love going out to eat…

Went out last night with my mom and sister and treated them to dinner. They are not big drinkers at all, but wanted a beer with dinner. I ordered 1 beer, and I actually stopped there! Normally my tally is at least 3 drinks. I had my 1, and went home and drank water the rest of the night. I even had beer at the house (in…

This is what I am also striving for! Good for you!!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and kind words. I think my goal for now is to REALLY try to moderate my drinking and try to keep it to only a few a week. This would be a huge improvement, as I normally have a few drinks just about every day. Eventually, I may try to do a sober month. I think that'd be good for me! Happy…

Good Morning, all! And thanks for the warm welcome. :) My AOTD - Drinking more water, tracking my food, and staying under my calories (even though I am going out later). I am going to find a healthy option. I have to go try on a few bridesmaid dresses for my friend after work and not looking forward to it. Oh well! Waves!

Oh man! I hope this thread continues into June. My husband and I are big craft beer drinkers and drink way too frequently. I believe this is the* major reason for my weight gain. I have long wanted to abstain for longer periods to see how I feel. To have new habits and ways of relaxing and enjoying myself, but I've…

I think the general advice everyone else is giving is good. It stinks you can't share this with her because she is your Mom, but it's probably best to avoid or just "agree to disagree." I've had a similar experience with my Mom. She is not obese, but "diets" from time to time and her ideas of what is healthy are different…

Good Morning all! Serial Starter. Lost a bunch of weight, gained it back.. blah blah. The usual. :) Just got back from a pretty active trip in Iceland. I fared pretty well but wasn't at my best. And in general, I am sick of feeling like crap and having no energy. Reached a new high of 190 this year.... haven't made any…

I'm on week 6 now and did my first full 20 minute run the other day. I do two 10 minute intervals today. Breathing is getting easier, but my legs are still catching up. I can tell my muscles are weak and my form is off - on my right leg, towards the bottom on the right side right above my ankle, that muscle will get tight…

Avocado!

Yes! But I agree with others, make sure it fits into your calories for the day and try to limit how often. This is my BIGGEST issue because I love beer - love trying new craft beers and do it waaaay too often. I am also learning to cut back and make sure it fits in my calorie allowance for the day!
-
Same here! I lost 25-30 lbs and have slowly gained it all back. Now I need to start over.

Good Morning and happy Friday! Serial starter here. I've started and deleted accounts.... and started over more times than I can count. Lost weight about 7 years ago, kept it off for a few years... then moved and changed my habits, got a new job, etc. Now my biggest downfall is going out to eat and beer. I always always…

I just started week 4 yesterday! I have done the program several times, but most recently haven't stuck with it and have needed to start over again and again! I stink at running but I love the way it makes me feel mentally! Week 4 day 2 for me tomorrow!
-
I was slow. Buff
-
Great job! I did Friday's doubles yesterday and worked up a really good sweat. Pushing forward!

I've been much better at keeping up with my workouts this week! After my week+ hiatus due to family crap, I decided to re-do the Alpha. I started this WAY out of shape and there is still a lot I can improve on. I've done all workouts this week, including Ab Intervals this morning!
-
Thanks everyone!! I appreciate the concern and kind words! I decided to repeat my last week this week since I had gotten a bit behind and could certainly use the practice!! I did Total Body Circuit today and am glad to be back in it!! Hope you all are doing well.
-
Hi all! I had a major setback last week with a family emergency. I had to fly out of town for the week and couldn't continue the workouts. I am going to pick back up today and repeat week 4. Anxious to get back in it!
-
I know what you mean! I'm often doing Couch to 5K and other workouts with it, so I am often sore/tired. I did Speed 1.0 yesterday! It's getting a bit easier for me to keep up, which is good!
-
motivatedsister, I am right with you! Today's Total Body Circuit was rough for me too because of my legs being so sore! I did my couch to 5k run prior! But it's done
-
I didn't get my doubles in because I spent the last two days landscaping my front yard! Will get right back to it tomorrow. I have lost 3 lbs so far and can tell inches have been lost too! I forgot to take measurements when I started but I really need to do that because I can tell my clothes are starting to fit better!…
-
Woo! Did Speed 1.0 yesterday and just finished Cardio. I made myself do it as soon as I got home, even though I didn't want to! I am definitely seeing improvements already, so that's great.
-
That's great everyone! I used yesterday as a rest day, so I do Speed 1.0 today! It was super tough last week so I hope it's a bit better today :)
-
I also got Total Body Circuit done yesterday! I noticed some improvements from last week as well, so that's good! :) Still a long way to go, but progress is progress.
-
Did not feel well yesterday so I didn't do my Cardio. Still super sore from the double duty workouts I did Sunday. Today I'll do Total Body Circuit.
-
Got the Total Body Workout done yesterday and then Ab Intervals today! Tomorrow is my double duty day! I still feel like I have a ways to go with all of the moves. I need to work on all areas - strength, speed, endurance... But I am drenched at the end of each workout and know I am doing my best. I haven't exercised…
-
I made my rest day yesterday instead of Sunday because I was SO sore from the previous workouts - my legs needed a rest. They feel much better today. Today I'll do the Total Body Circuit!
-
I did Speed 1.0 today and that was tough for me because I am so uncoordinated!! All of the criss-crossing of the feet and stuff... I guess I'll get used to it, lol. Didn't feel like I got as good of a workout because I kept screwing up, but my hair was soaked when I was done!!
