Yep, OP I had the same problem, except I was 5'5" and 106 lbs soaking wet when we married. After baby #3 (a 10-pounder, btw) I began packing on weight. When I mentioned losing weight he was waaaay too enthusiastic! So much so I was put off the idea altogether for several years. Bottom line: Do it for you if that's what you…

Waaaaaay to expensive! I can get a large can of protein shake with equivalent nutrition (protein, carbs, vitamins, minerals, etc.) or better for fewer calories, for 1/3 of the cost at Walmart or Target. And those shakes have less than 1/2 of the calories too! (170 calories vs. 70 calories for Six Star Fit protein isolate…

RIP Mr. Wilder, you will be missed.

Agreed. I tried to stick to a "clean eating" diet. I lost weight because the food was revolting and I couldn't choke it down, and began binging. Epic fail. Btw, I have this very meme as a screen saver on my computer at work. Love that cat! ETA: OP, the best thing you can do for yourself is stop reinventing the wheel. Stick…

A friend of mine swears by Isagenix and tried to get me involved (she sells it too, btw.) I opted out. It's too expensive and I don't think it's any better than just eating a balanced diet. I use a protein shake before my afternoon workouts but a large cannister of it isn't even close to the expense of Isagenix shakes.

I'd shrug it off as a cheat meal.

You can go to eye doctors but not a gp? Fine. Go to Wal-Mart or target or a pharmacy and pick up a glucometer and some testing strips then keep track of your blood sugars. The best time to get an accurate reading is after fasting for at least 6 hours, then about 2 hours after each meal. If the sugars are too high or too…

Idk it depends. Like alcohol, weed can be overused. If all he does is hang around the house smoking weed I'd drop him; why would I want to hang with someone like that? Just as if all he did all day was drink. If it truly is occasional then I wouldn't drop him. The only other reason I would drop him is if he tried to…

Mexican food! and my personal Achilles heel:
-
Twice daily, after lunch and after dinner.
-
Fresh, raw baby carrots for me!

Y'know, I thought I was having a bad day then I read your post and I realized how petty my problems truly are right now. I'm very sorry that you and your 11 y/o are going through this. I can only imagine the pain and empathize. I'll keep you both in my prayers.

It's still almost 100 degrees here and won't get much cooler until well after the sun sets but you enjoy your walk!

As a nurse I have a few ideas. Beans! Refried beans especially since beans have a high soluble fiber amount. Oatmeal does, too. Of course, whole grains, vegetables, fruit, etc. and increasing water intake. Prunes and prune juice can help. For moderate constipations, try milk and molasses. About 1 T of molasses in about 8…

This is definitely a personal choice issue. Some of the posters on MFP exercise on an empty stomach and do better. If I don't eat before I exercise I don't do well at all because I suffer profound fatigue, dizziness and muscle weakness. On a full stomach I can complete a 60 min run + 30 min weight training. Try it both…

Walking is good exercise but if you walk outside, make alternate arrangements for inclement weather, maybe buy some cheap weights and find some videos to emulate or maybe aerobics videos. Fitness blender has some great videos covering just about everything including stretching. The video lengths are variable too from 10…

Not specifically salt, but I found a peer-reviewed article about MSG: http://www.spiritofhealthkc.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/Health%20Library/Modern%20Medicine/Man%20Made%20Chemicals%20and%20Pollution/MSG/MSG1%20-%20The%20Toxicity%20-%20Safety%20of%20MSG.pdf The food industry knows that food enhancing flavors such as MSG…

No one argues that smoking is highly addictive, yet there are no "smoking rehab clinics popping up everywhere." There are self-help programs, hypnosis programs and 12 step programs aimed at self-help, but those types of programs exist for overeaters as well (sugar addiction is lumped in as an eating disorder.) Think…

Also, at least in most places in the US bringing your own food goes against health department codes. Has to do with the possibility of cross contamination.
-
BS. I've been drinking diet sodas for several months now and thus is just not true.

I do this too. I'm not necessarily hungry, it's more of a habit than anything. I've started coming home and instead of starting dinner right away, which is my habit, I have started to come in, shower (I work out after work) then Meditate for 15 mins or so before entering the kitchen. So far, so good but I have only been…

Maybe he thinks you're cute and he's working up the courage to talk to you. Good time to hint about hygiene . . .

OMG this is my biggest pet peeve! This is why I left one gym. It's a gym franchise and the owners/managers were encouraged to chit chat with the patrons. I couldn't take it. I'm now at a "serious" gym - UFC guys workout there. Nobody bothers me until I am done and I am sooooo much happier!
-
No problem because it's often triple digits here in the summer! We can split the difference and have double digits all year round!

I thought Mexico had to pay for all of the walls in the US?

I don't know how you can avoid loose skin after that much of a volume loss. Here is a picture of 5 lbs of fat, now multiply that by 20! Once all of that volume is gone, the skin, now probably streched tight over the extra fat, will become deflated, like a balloon. Having said that, extra skin can be mitigated somewhat.…

I live in the desert. At no time between July and September is it cool enough to work out, so I belong to a gym. Problem solved!

Me either! I've also noticed that if men are attracted to me, I feel like they are . . . I don't know . . . defective somehow because I feel so unattractive. If they are attracted to me there must be something wrong with them too. (I don't say this makes sense, in fact, I know that it doesn't but feelings aren't rational.)
