Mine hasn't been just one "aha" moment, my life has been a series of "aha" moments. Last year about this time I was told I am diabetic with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. That was my first "aha" moment. I fell off the wagon about mid-July, and when I say fell of the wagon, I mean I ate almost nothing but snack…

I just need eight seconds for the win . . .

Yep. Today was my last day before my vacay too! Perfect!
-
I sabotage myself 100%. Granted, the vendors that bring all of the bagels, pastries, candy, etc. don't help but they don't shovel the stuff into my mouth, either.

I'm sure you look fantastic in your little schoolgirl uniform skirts!

Because if they told the truth and said weight loss is f***ing hard work they wouldn't sell many books/detoxes/pills/diet drinks/other magic weight loss crap.

I agree with @GuitarJerry. I use the IIFYM calculator and calculate my TDEE, then eat those calories. The number is static, so it's easier to plan my meals in advance. Every 5 lbs or so lost I recalculate and adjust my MFP calorie budget accordingly. Although I know it works for many, the MFP program doesn't work for me…

I stick to an 1800 calorie diet and don't eat back any of my exercise calories because the MFP calculations don't work for me. I eat what I always did because labeling food "bad" or "forbidden" just makes me want to binge on them more. I stop eating after 6 pm because (a) it works for me and (b) it stops my late-night…

I did c25k too and am now running at 4.4 mph for 60 mins but it took me almost 6 months. My advice: Don't advance to the next level until you are very comfortable where you are now. You risk burnout by doing too much too fast and you also risk injury. Good luck and happy running!

YES! After every 10 lbs I lose I treat myself to a massage! ETA: I wrote this before I saw all of the other great, similar answers.

I don't find this at all.

I run on a treadmill for a couple of reasons. I live in the desert and it's usually either waaaay to hot or way to cold to run on the street. My community is rural and sidewalks, curbs and shoulders are unknown. I can watch Hulu or Netflix while running and, most of all, I must run at a certain speed to keep up. Left to…

Sorry, the only thing I can hear Alan Rickman say is, "Yippe ki yo mudderf***er!" RIP Alan . . . I try to practice mindful eating, but I have to tell you that I fall back into my old (destructive) ways about 1/2 way through the meal, so I've decided, while I am perfecting mindful eating, to practice mindful preparation.…

Glad the Dynamic Duo is back together!! <3 >:) <3

I've noticed that since I began running I've been drinking more water. I was never a big soda drinker, maybe 1-2 a day, but I drank a lot of tea and coffee. Now most of the time I just want water. Also, I've noticed that often given the option, I'll eat something good for me rather than "junk food." Don't get me wrong, I…

This post literally brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to you. You look wonderful and your new, healthy, strong attitude shows in your facial expression and posture!

Yeah, I did that too. I'm 11lbs away from my flattering weight! Lol

This happened to me daily, maybe even hourly. Still happens occasionally. Make sure you're getting enough calories and that your macros are balanced, then give it time. It may never stop completely but it will slow waaaaaay down. ETA: Take a look at what you're doing/feeling when this happens. If the impulse to eat comes…

Yes. Weigh food on a food scale. I don't weigh prepackaged things like bread or cookies - and I'm a bit lax about weighing things like salad greens but every bite of calorie intensive food like meat and ice cream is weighed. Every bite I take is logged even if it puts me over calories, to keep me accountable. I hate the…

Yes. Get off of this website, it's meant for adults and the nutritional information may be detrimental to growing teens. Sparkpeople.com is for teens.

How did Gale miss this one?

Cardio and weight training 6 days/week My calorie-intensive meals are breakfast and lunch, dinners are 400 cals or less I know this is considered woo, but it works for me-I don't eat or drink after 6 pm.

I feel like I start over every day. . .

Yep. I've done this. Packed my lunch, logged everything, then the CEO decided to take the department heads to lunch - a Chinese buffet no less!

An apple instead of a donut from the box given to my department by a vendor.

According to the BBC his name is Tsewang Paljor.

Tragedy is defined as, "an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe." (https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=tragedy+definition) so technically her death is a tragedy, but I understand your meaning. The climber knew the risks and decided to…

Shorts, sports bra and either T-shirts with the sleeves cut out or tank tops. I get too warm in sweat pants and sleeves feel too restricting.
