  • To clarify, I don't have any solidified goals other than to just get stronger/increase health and fitness levels. I just really enjoy it and I love trying new workouts so I've just been playing around with different splits to see which ones I enjoy. I've done the fulbody split 3x a week with cardio in between before and I…
  • I log it as circuit training!
  • For me it was when I used to just eat a meal, track it, eat a meal, track it, and panic towards the end of the day when I'm starving and realized I have 50 calories left. Learning to plan my whole day out ahead of time definitely took the guess-work out of eating!
  • Personally whenever I go out (and intend to stick to my diet) I ask for a plain chicken breast, baked potato without butter, and side of steamed vegetables (or just cooked without oil). They're all pretty standard things to pair up so I've never had an issue. I'm always full and satisfied when I'm done!
  • I usually keep things pretty simple, but here's a rough day: Breakfast: Oatmeal with apple, peanut butter, and egg whites cooked in cashew milk. Snack: 2 rice cakes Lunch: Rice with broccoli and ground turkey (sometimes black beans) and a little soya sauce. Snack: 2 eggs or 1/2c egg whites depending on macros with deli…
  • Heya! I'm 5'5", currently weigh around 129lbs, started at 151lbs. Been a really long journey for me! I struggled with an unhealthy relationship with food and yo-yo dieted for many years, but I've slowly been repairing my way of thinking and have made some great progress. I did pilates/1200cal for years but now that I've…
  • I've been there for sure! Always yo-yoing back and forth between extremely motivated, discouraged, and then "rraarrgh screw diets I'm eating everything". Honestly I can confidently say that what made me snap out of it was to figure out why I'm doing this. Wanting to lose weight just to look good is NOT going to be…
  • Update: After doing some more of my own research I think I'm going to try this plan: https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/dymatize-transformed-12-weeks-to-your-best-self Looks super comprehensive! Let me know if anyone's tried it :)
  • Yeah I'm kind of second-guessing myself because my butt is definitely sore today haha. What did you end up doing instead, if you don't mind me asking?
  • Thanks so much guys!!
  • Ooh, that sounds great! I'll check that out, thanks so much. I'll check it out, thank you!
  • Thanks so much! I should clarify, I'd love to be stronger too, but I'm looking for more hypertrophy-focused programs as opposed to power-lifting type programs. I'm not super educated in this area but to my understanding hypertrophy works best in a moderate rep-range/weight and strength is built through a lower rep…
  • Welcome aboard!! I can definitely relate in that I've tried EVERY diet out there with no success until I committed to MFP. My biggest advice is to be consistent, not extreme, and you'll get there for sure. Best of luck to you!
  • You look great!!
  • I've definitely experienced this too! I didn't lose ANYTHING for 2 months straight (weighing myself every day) and then all of a sudden I lost 3.4lbs in 3 days. It's definitely great motivation to push through plateaus knowing you might be at the edge of a whoosh!

  • Great, thanks! Is there anything specific you need to change or amp up in order to get rid of that fluff or is it just a matter of doing what you normally do but more consistently?
  • Thanks so much for the feedback! How often do you guys have untracked meals? I currently have one every 2 weeks just for sanity's sake, but I'm really curious to see what you guys do.
  • It's more like this: Mon - 45 mins full body circuit Tues - 30-40 mins pilates/calisthenics/light weight + 50 mins Spin Wed - new strength work out Thur - 30-40 mins pilates/calisthenics/light weight + 50 mins Spin Fri - 45 mins full body circuit weekend - rest You're definitely right, I guess it's not as full-body as I…
  • Thanks for the feedback! I really like the look of bigger shoulders haha. I find my biceps get a lot of work from the pushups/bodyweight circuit stuff and they develop quite easily so I opted not to do bicep specific stuff in this. I don't have access to cables (I wish I did!!!) but maybe I could do something similar with…
  • 5'5" 151 - 128lbs :) Not where I'd like to be just yet (aiming for around 120lbs) but feeling much better!
  • Very interesting way of looking at it, and probably overall a much more effective approach than what I tend to do (which is go balls to the wall for a few months and then fall off the wagon for another few) :P Thank you everyone for the feedback! I think the general consensus is to eat a smaller deficit, lift heavier…
  • Thanks for the feedback guys!! Keep the info coming :)
  • Yikes!! I guess this is good to know, I was worried I was going to have to lower my carbs haha because according to that, I should be eating a lot less carbs and doing a heck more cardio :P
  • Tomato basil Triscuits. Or really any kind of box of crackers.... soo easy for me to just pick away at the box until realizing I've eaten the whole thing. :P
  • That sounds so frustrating! It really sounds like you're doing everything right. For me personally, I went a few months without losing much at all, and then all of a sudden weight just started to fall off of me like crazy. Don't give up yet, you might be on the edge of a big drop! The only thing I could maybe recommend…
  • Thanks everyone for the help!! After doing a little research (and looking at my daily logs) I think a low iron intake may be to blame, so I'm going to try to hit my iron intake from now on and see what happens.
  • The more I look into it, the more I believe it may have something to do with inadequate iron levels. I'll try incorporating more iron-rich foods into my diet this next week and see how I feel, thanks!
  • I actually have been considering melatonin, but I feel like I've been sleeping so well recently, I'm not sure if I would need it! But maybe I'm not sleeping as good as I think I am. It might be worth a shot. As far as room darkness goes, it's still bright outside when I go to bed so maybe I should invest in some good…
  • Pretty decent sized I suppose. I usually eat either an egg white omelet, chicken and rice, or an egg with roasted veggies and a small white potato. Maybe I'll have to invest in a good energy bar for a midday pick-me-up. Thanks!
  • These past few weeks I've been sleeping pretty deeply each night. I am naturally a very light sleeper and it doesn't take much for me to wake up in the night, so I did think that was the source of my exhaustion initially, but lately I've been sleeping really well and I still feel so darn tired!
