This. It enables me to brace my core for the big lifts. Don’t focus all that much on my breathing during accessory lifts.

With a baby due in February, my main goal is to get my squat, deadlift, and bench back up to where they were before pregnancy and hopefully, beyond. Also work back up to 6 days a week at the gym.

After 3 kids and intermittent insomnia throughout the years, I’ve learned to function on little to no sleep. It’s not ideal, and it’s not every night, but I pretty much always choose the workout. I get up at 5ish and as long as I’m asleep by 12, I make it work.

I hear ya about the kids! 3 kids here too (and one on the way) and the stress is crazy. After my third I had horrible postpartum anxiety and lifting heavy was honestly all that got me thru it. I love lifting and it is a major priority in my life. Hope you can find the relief you need too :)

I second the micro plates! Especially for me on bench. I had to do the roll of shame once :( it was a weight I had pushed before so no clue what happened....got it and then some in weeks afterward. Just happens i guess. I ran SS for what it’s worth, similar but not exactly the same. Good luck OP!

It took my body a long time to adjust to getting up early. It can still be rough some mornings. I just tell myself “I’ve never regretted a workout and chances are one of my kids will be up within an hour anyways” Keep trying! You may love getting it done early

I get up 515 and at gym by 545 most weekdays. Lift weights (favorite) for 50-65 min followed by 15-20 of cardio. My apple watch syncs the total cals, but I adjust it down to the active calories. Pick one and try it for a while and depending on your goals and results, adjust if needed.
