You sound very determined and I wish you the best of luck! Be sure to focus on protein, healthy fats, and quality satiating carbs. You’ve got this!

I have some of those issues myself and need to get back to a healthy weight. For exercise, do what you enjoy! Sounds so simple I know, but don’t force anything (other than maybe trying to walk some, which I struggle with bc I find it boring). I like to ride my stationary bike, do dumbbell workouts (either using my bike…

@Raegold I am pretty new to PCOS, but my doctor told me to eat lower carb, at least avoiding the refined/processed stuff. She wouldn’t give me a macro range to aim for. I hope you don’t mind, but I had a couple questions for you. Do you eat a particular max gram amount of carbs? Do you worry about sugar if the source is…

Hi! I’m 39 and have 45-50 to lose. Returning user. :)

I'm more of an enjoy yourself while on vacay and worry about it when you get back home person! That being said, don't overindulge if you don't really want to. I just got back from 4 days in Vegas and thoroughly enjoyed myself by having plenty of drinks and food, but didn't go to a buffet for instance or eat another meal at…

That article also seems like propaganda to me for drug companies to say, "see, it's not about willpower/it's not your fault, here, take this new appetite suppressant/metabolism booster."

Sizes can look really different on people. I'm a 12/14 and I really don't think I look it. Not trying to be delusional, it's just how it is. When I'm a 10 (my goal), I think I look more like a small 8.

Try ASOS, they're awesome. Free shipping both ways if you spend $40. Cute dresses too. Sizes up to 14. Plus I think they also have some plus. Check out their "outlet" section too for clearance.

I don't want to brag, but I can walk to my nearest battery store.

30g of fat is too low. I usually eat about 65-80. Just makes sure most are good sources like mentioned above - avocados, nuts, olive/coconut oils, etc... My fiber intake is around 20-25 most days, some days only 10-15.
-
@mawdestmeri oh i am the same exact way!! It can be so hard to incorporate the fun, social stuff without me wanting that to be the new norm.

try a splash of milk!

A teaspoon of olive oil only has 40 calories. That's pretty much what I use for most things, whether it's cooking or to add to my vinegar as salad dressing.
-
I eat about 90g per day and more on workout days. I can't imagine eating less than 75.

Fantastic accomplishment!!

I found a quote along similar awesome lines I'm trying to live by: "Your best weight is whatever weight you reach when you're living the healthiest life you actually enjoy."

This is what I think I'm going to do once I reach my goal of 165: I'm going to log for a couple months to figure out the appropriate maintenance calories. Then, I'm only going to log if the scale goes above 170. It will be my way of reeling things back in. That way, I don't have to log all the time, but it is there as a…

Right?! I don't think we should give people a hard time for asking a valid question, it's not that ridiculous. She's learning.

Well, for one, I'd like the $900 back that it cost me to have my doctor tell me that my extreme hair loss was just a reaction to me dieting at approx. 1100 calories (lost 40lbs in 4 months)... Plus of course gaining it all back bc I restricted too much. That is why I am here again. I am so much happier this time around,…

And, yes, I agree that your urine should not be clear, just light yellow/clearish is the goal. Mine was clear and that is often a sign of overhydration.

I was suddenly drinking about 275-325 ounces a day and did not feel good. Sorry for tmi, but my urine smelled strongly of ammonia. I went to the doctor and everything was fine (no uti, even culture sent out came back ok), but I still had symptoms. I was also dizzy and nauseous. I finally decided to try cutting back on…

I'm 5'8" and have been everything from 118-218. I think I look healthiest at 155-165. 145-155 is tough to attain/maintain for me. Anything under 145 looks way too skinny on me. I look fine until 185, just not great.200+ and I start to look heavy.
-
I have similar issues. It's hard for me to just have one on a random day. I say while you're losing weight don't drink, but I know that's tough and I also know that's not really learning how to properly navigate this new lifestyle.
-
Mine have been lighter and more regular. Less pms symptoms too, woohoo (soreness, tiredness, etc). I've been eating between 1350-1750 calories depending on exercise, so for me it wasn't bc calories were too low. I think it's just the body's way of adjusting.

I never lose right away after changing to healthier eating habits/more active lifestyle. It takes like a week for me. Patience, sadly, is something I really needed to learn with dieting. You'll start losing, just hang in there and stay consistent.

I'll be going on two this year. One 4 day trip to Vegas for a bachelorette weekend and I plan to indulge in fun drinks by the the pool, decadent dinners and booze at night! Plus of course a breakfast buffet. I'll then be going on a nearly 3 week vacation to Europe later on in this summer, during which time I plan on…

Yes. I use the happy scale app, that helps me to care less about day to day fluctuations.

@katsmo thank you for the add! :-)
