@Glampinupdoll thank you!

To the people randomly losing after a cheat day, that's the "woosh" effect. http://leanmuscleproject.com/how-whooshes-impact-your-weight-loss/

At 145 I was a size 6. I'm 5'8 and have a "spread out evenly" type of build.
-
I'm 5'8, was 210, now 186, goal 165. Always carry it pretty well too, so it's hard to find the motivation sometimes. Eating at about 1350/day plus I eat back most of my exercise calories (3-4 workouts a week. Was doing 5 but scaled it back bc I was feeling a bit too run down).

I eat Siggi's whole milk yogurt. Only 8g sugar (5g fat, 10g protein). So rich and filling! Had the fig and lemon zest flavor today.

Starvation mode is a misnomer, but in my own personal experience when I go too low and exercise too much nothing happens. I believe there is a sweet spot for losing weight. People can provide me with all the science against starvation mode, but for me I choose to believe it exists in some form. Maybe it's not "starving"…

Juts for reference, I eat 1400 plus all of my exercise calories (about 200-500, depending on what I do. I wear a heart rate monitor so it's more exact, but still can be faulty). I'm 5'8, was 210, now 187, goal 165.

I don't know about recomp, that's definitely an area for someone else, but yes, if you're trying to lose a bit of weight, I would eat back like half of that estimated burn. So maybe around 1500-1600 calories a day? 1200 + 300-400 in exercise calories = 1500-1600. That's at least what I would do, not sure if it is correct.
-
OP, you mean 1200 plus eating back some/most of the 400 calories burned? I think that's ok since you probably don't have much to lose, if any and it gets harder and harder the closer you are to your ideal weight. Or do you mean 1200 flat out without eating back exercise calories? Now that would be way too low.
-
I would take a more moderate approach, this seems a little drastic to me. Are you working out? Eating those calories back? You can eat more and even have a treat here or there and still lose weight.
-
OP, download Happy Scale. It will start monitoring your weight loss trend so the ups/downs won't be as concerning. Just input your weight daily (or as much as you can, but the more, the better) and it will show you "moving average" weight, as well as projected weight loss. It helps me so much not to take the water…

I'm 5'8 and my goal is 165. Started at 210. I have been everything from 118-218 over the years. At 165 and exercising I am a very healthy loose size 10, tight size 8 but everyone swears I can't be more than like 135. I get to eat some treats and have some beer here or there and that's the kind of maintenance I can live…

I get the Country French Vinaigrette herb spice mix from Penzey's Spices. You just add a little water, red wine vinegar, and olive oil. Best dressing I have ever had in my life!!

@synacious she has been at it for 5 weeks... Yes, weight loss is not linear, but she should be seeing more results.
-
I'm having similar issues myself... Do you eat back your exercise calories? Btw, I liked your profile a lot, very humble and nice. I have no doubt you will meet your goals and look great at your 40th!

You look amazing & what a great attitude about it all! :)

I eat about 1450 +/- and lose about 2lbs/week. 5'8", 36, 210sw/200cw/165gw

I lost 40 lbs in 4 months before (equivalent to 2.5 lbs/week). I ate 1500 calories, give or take. I ate very healthy and worked out 5-6 days a week. So it is totally possible and reasonable to lose 2.2 lbs/week. My issue with that kind of weight loss is that I gained it all back! I think that's why there is a lot of…

Awesome job! I'm hoping to get there next week. :)

I am so close to onederland, next week hopefully.
