I take a weight training class at my YMCA, and it's helped me learn the basics and proper form. Whenever I want to lift out of class, it's easy because I've been taught which exercises work which muscles.

100lbs by January? That's quite daunting. I think if you do the math, that's about 16lbs to lose a month-- which would be hard for everyone! Always been overweight, pretty much my whole life. Hit my highest weight of just over 300 lbs in December of last year, I carry a lot of this in my midsection. An older woman approached me and asked me if I was having twins. TWINS, you guys. Needless to say, that was quite a wake up call.

Set a new goal! I set my original goal to the recommended weight for being able to donate bone marrow. I want to be on the donor list! I'd also really like to learn to ride a horse.

I take classes at the Y and there are many ladies in that age range that take water aerobics for their arthritis. Good luck!

In the same boat! However, I have found that exercising has definitely helped me lose weight, and it doesn't make me feel terrible when I have a cheat meal here and there. After joining the Y, I fell in love with Zumba! We can all do it! Never give up!
