Weekends are pretty tough..... Some times I eat very well and some weekends I'm like a toddler left unsupervised in a candy store. Oh my! Find if I eat a hearty breakfast each day, I do better. Since during the week, I eat scheduled snacks in between meals, if I combine that snack and breakfast or lunch, I can hang in…

Left over avocado? Not sure what that even means..... j/k. On the extreme rare occasion I've had avocado left over, lemon or lime squeezed on it and wrap tight. I've even frozen avocados like that. Scoop them out, take out pit, squeeze lemon on it and put in freezer bag. Makes great guac later.

Baked Chicken Fajitas, I could eat them Ever Single Day (& meal). I try to limit it to once a week. -- and of course morning coffee

Just don't. Not trying to be rude, however, over the course of my old life, I have tried over-the-counter weight loss pills, prescribed weight loss pills, shake replacements, weigh-in groups of All the types.... Wish I had the $$ and my gallbladder back from all the horrible "weight loss helps" I tried and yep, lost weight…

Ah, I feel your pain. I have followed every suggestion out there and even have resorted to meds when it just goes (or not goes in my case) for too long. I even had one doctor tell me that some folks react poorly to too much fiber from salads and veggies and such - I had never heard that. I also react poorly to flax, chia…

It can be done - but, it will be slow! Be patient with yourself and keep at it. Sure, it gets down right depressing at times, then you need to pick yourself up and get back on that "bus". I have lost over 70 pounds and I'm hypothyroid/Hashimoto/post-menopausal/high blood pressure/IBS .... blah blah blah. Not making light…

"Sacrificed" not being able to walk down the hall without wheezing, not being able to fit into even my "fat" pants, not being able to wear tie-up tennis shoes (hahaha), not being able to keep up with my grandchildren, not being able to be mindful of stuffing my face daily, not being present in my life at all! I have…

Welcome -- I have been on and off MFP for the last 3 years. I'm a slow learner apparently. I lost 70+ in 2013 - gained some back in 2014, lost it again in 2015 and then gained about 10 back over holidays --- oh my! Here we are! I tend to fall into that trap after all the kids have come home and then leave again for their…

The wish for "local meetings/weigh ins" can actually happen daily on MFP for much cheaper $$! Collect yourself a group of like minded individuals as "friends" and get on that wagon together and keep each accountable. In the long run, I have found much to my disgust, whether WW or any other weight loss method; you are…

I'm one of those people that did wonderfully well and lost over 70+ in 2013 on MFP. Got "fed up" with counting calories and had hit my goal, so stopped counting and BAM 15 pounds back on through 2014. My eyeballing the portions just doesn't work for me and in all honesty - I was not being completely honest in my eating…

Very much on the fence with this one. At my age, I've tried every fad diet out there ---and gained it all back + more after a while. IF (& that is a very huge IF) the 21 Day Fix can help someone learn about portion control and nutritional values, cool. It will be valuable and worth spending the money only if the person…

Ahhhh, I commend you on your progress! And yes, I find the community aspect uplifting, encouraging, smack to my head, and sometimes frustrating.... but, oh the whole, enjoyable. Therefore, carry on! (as if you needed my permission) ;)

No disrespect meant -- but, what are you doing on MFP? It is a Calorie counting app, right? I know it is extremely bothersome to get into the habit of weighing, measuring, and entering your foods - but, it really works! Of course, one can lose the weight by restricting their intake of calories, listening to your body and…

I, too, used to think "healthy" equals nasty, boring, and tasteless. I started learning (yep, old dogs Can learn new tricks) that all those veggies, lean meats, fruits and whole grains are delicious! And it has been actually FUN - I was astounded - to find new and improved ways to make meals delicious and interesting. It…

Oh my, I just went and looked at it. I've got a better deal for you.... for only $25, ( that one is on special for $27) I will tell you how I've lost over 70+ and kept it off for over 3 years. J/K!!! I have spent exactly $0 on a special "diet" and all by CICO -- period, end of sentence..... And it isn't 3 weeks, it is for…

I have the Charge HR - upgraded from the Flex a few months ago. Accurate? Not always - but, that is ok. My aim is to try and match or better my movement on any given day since I have a desk job. I do not eat back the calories it gives me - sometimes maybe a small percentage. Such as Sunday it gave me an extra 1200 calories…

True on the testing. For any testing done by the Doctor, you must have been eating gluten products. However, and that is a big however, if you suspect you are merely (I don't mean that "merely" mean) intolerant or have a sensitivity, do eliminate all gluten products - and that can mean canned products - check for hidden…

Yep, menopause is a pain in the - well, you know. I had never had the problem of my belly being where I carry my weight. Now, I do. The only thing that helps me is small portions - I eat 1200-1400 calories each and every day & will for the rest of my life. Finding out that This Is for the rest of our lives is a jolt to the…

Take it from an old lady that has lost and gained back probably 3 whole people in her life time; been there and have done every fad diet out there. Won't call each of them all out - but, sure wish I had back the hundreds and hundreds (maybe thousands) of $$ I spent over the years yo-yo dieting. Slim Fast does happen to be…

I also split my 1200 - 1400 (depending on eating back a small portion of exercise calories) between 6 "meals" a day. Breakfast - 300 calories of either a veggie egg bake portion, 1/2 cup oatmeal with almond milk and blueberries, hardboiled egg with fruit, scrambled egg with veggies, grapefruit... combinations are many.…

Coconut water, spinach (as much as I can fit), 1/2 frozen banana, 50g fresh pineapple. That is the most simple one I make and use as a snack. Mornings: 1/2 C 0% Greek Yogurt, 50g each of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, 1 TB PB2, 1/4 C oatmeal, 1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 - 1/2 almond/coconut milk. I tend to mix it up…

1/4 cup of 4% cottage cheese on my salads instead of dressing, on baked potato instead of butter, with salsa for my celery & carrots, mixed with black beans, tomatoes, avocado for a dip, by itself with a tomato, in 1/2 an avocado, with fresh pineapple and many times just plain ole' cottage cheese.

If you are able to and have the time - spending a couple of hours on the weekends prepping veggies, fruits, salad fixins and just lunch meal planning is such a life saver! I'm in the office by 6:30 - 6:45 every morning and I have chores before that -- grabbing already to go things is the best! Leftovers are fantastic also.…

I have also become much more discerning about how much or how many of something I want to indulge my calories on. Have learned, the hard way, that a hand full of M&M's - okay, the whole bag - is just Not worth not being able to eat for the rest of the day. Have learned that fast food may fill me up for a moment, but are…

Agree with what everyone is sharing.... it can be extremely frustrating trying to figure out the right dosage and the right regime for you to feel better. It took probably 2 years of this, that and the other before being diagnosed with hypothyroid/Hashimoto. My 104 year old grandmother had her thyroid out many years ago,…

Not sure how to take it. Being fairly small already at 124# - eating 1200 and working out that intensely may be very hard on your body. However, since it is written that you "DON'T want to do it in a healthy way" - perhaps this is accurate for you. Did you perhaps mean you DO wish to do it in a healthy way? Then a few…

Feeling your struggle and pain. Like folks have stated, acknowledging you feel there is a problem is a good step toward getting the help you will need. Hopefully you can find a Dr/therapist/nutritionist/personal trainer - someone to help you on your road to recovery. Recovery not just from the alcohol, but the weight…

Welcome and congratulations on wanting and working toward a change in your life! Everyday is an opportunity to work toward that goal - it is a life long journey and one well worth it! The only day I will stop trying (some days failing miserably) and it will have been my final attempt is when they put me 6 feet under.....

Forcing yourself to eat a particular food when you hate it is just basically setting yourself up for "diet" failure. How long would you actually be able to force yourself? And why would you want to? Research up a better alternative to those nutrients and one that you will be happy with and will want to eat for the rest of…

Have to admit I used to have that mind set. Restrictive diet big time and then BAM eat the whole hog, so to speak. Fall off, gain back, start again! Have totally reset my brain to not think of anything as "cheating". If I overeat (which I'm thinking is how we all thought of a "cheat" meal/day) - I log it and carry on with…
