Really? Am I missing something??

People tend to spread and accept bad advice pretty freely on this site. It's been that way for years.

Bench press, dumbbell fly, bent over rows. These will help build muscle under the breast, which will help lift the breasts.

That's what she said?

U srs?

Hospital shaming?

lol I meant hat.

"try and avoid the machines if possible" said the person I originally quoted and I asked why to avoid them completely then this person quoted me back and started giving his reasons. ;)

I like your hat. Cool jeans.

Being popular on the internet is like sitting at the cool table in the cafeteria at a mental hospital.

Squats.. obvs.

My mile time got much shorter after I started lifting. I went from running a 10 minute mile to an 8 minute mile, much to my surprise, as I wasn't training for it. Lift and get those legs strong!

I don't get how she could be hogging all at once? If she is in the squat rack use the smith machine and vise versa? You can always ask to work in too! When someone has my dumbbells I just go a higher weight with lower reps. Really though, there is no need for her to have more than 2 dumbbells at a time. Just politely say…

I agree with that. The part I don't agree with is that machines will make you avoid the weight section completely. I'm not debating that free weights aren't better than machines. They are. I'm only saying it's bad advice to tell someone to avoid machines completely, especially a beginner asking specifically for which…

My weight fluctuates 6 - 7 lbs daily. I wouldn't worry about it

Yup. I've been trying to get bulky for 2 years and these woman think they're gonna pick some dumbbells up and turn into the hulk. :/
-
I stuck with it for like 3 weeks and never really followed it exactly. I started the program when I was completely new to lifting so I did find it great for the video tutorials.
-
I don't think that's true. I always incorporate the leg press, cable row, assisted pull up, leg curl, etc machines. I also love free weights. To say to stay away from all machines is bad advice IMO
-
Why should she try and avoid machines? I agree some machines should be avoided, but there are also some great ones, especially for beginners.

I started with Jamie Eason's Live Fit program. It will give you a schedule and provides video tutorials on all the basic lifts (and more). Great for beginners and free :)

It depends on your current body composition. If you have a lot of fat to lose walking is a great start. For those with not so much fat to lose I would suggest a higher intensity workout.
-
OP please do not take this as fact (best to just ignore the whole post). Eat at a surplus, lift weights and be sure to hit your macros.

Today will be my 8th day at the gym. It was supposed to be a much needed rest day, but I ended up getting 9 hours of sleep last night and feel amazing today so will be hitting back and biceps this evening. I just take one when I feel I need one - this usually ends up being every 6 - 7 days.
-
I do 12 reps to failure. If I can complete the 13th rep I up the weight.
-
Deadlifts are great, but I think OP is looking for direct core workouts. (correct me if I'm wrong)
-
I do the captains chair with a 10 lb weight between my feet and incline bench with a medicine ball or 10 lb weight. I just started adding weight to my ab routines. Rope crunches are good too.

No food or drinks are going to add weight to a specific part of your body. Could you imagine? lol I would have the hugest t!ts right now ;) You can only add mass to specific areas by adding muscle and in order to add muscle you need to eat at a surplus (and lift of course), so chances are you will put on weight all over.
-
That's when preworkout comes most in handy.
-
apparently it's now a "sport".
