I batch cook too. I used to do the frozen meals thing, but I find a lot of the frozen meals, have additives, preservatives, a lot of sodium, or are really high in carbs. Calories are not the be all/end all of a healthy diet. Just read the ingredients and if you don't recognize a lot of the ingredients, beware.

When you get bored.... instead of "going downstairs" put on some music. Your favorite play list will raise your dopamine levels, and that will quell the "false hunger". Or - read a book. Or even better, go for a walk. Walking - the activity and also being outside - will also boost dopamine and help push the hunger away.…

sardines are a great source of protein. Also for vegans, tofu is a good option. And I personally drink an all natural, no additives, high protein meal replacement shake every day. And it's vegan, not whey protein. [Edited by MFP Staff]
