  • Sure but sometimes people view friendliness -- as in "Hi, how are you?" -- as an open invitation to come over and chit chat for 10 minutes and not getting the hint to leave when you start your next set and grunt your responses.
  • Same here. I buy the same brands so I know what's in the food therefore I don't need to read the label to see what I'm getting. The only time I am forced to label read is if my store discontinues a brand which it's done in the past.
  • If it's getting you up and moving around then I don't see why that's a bad thing. While cutting back your calorie consumption does cause you to lose weight, exercise increases the deficit. Not only that but it's good for your heart and your body so it's a win-win. I also know from my own personal experience (I italicized…
  • If she put all her weights on both racks if she's using the smith machine then go to the squat rack, remove her weight and work in your set. If she gives you the evil glare or starts to run over to stop you I'd politely say "You either use the smith machine or the squat rack. Not both. This is a small gym and it's courtesy…
  • @OfficialDSXIII - Real maple syrup has one ingredient: maple syrup. Anything that has HFCS, sugars or other ingredients isn't the real deal.
  • Do you also not eat broccoli, cauliflower, arugula, brussel sprouts . . . basically any cruciferous vegetable because they have the same effect as kale.
  • Massaged? I've never had to "massage" the kale. Just cut the leaves off the spine, chop it up and use.
  • Ahhhhh. You're right. I did misunderstand. Sorry about that! :)
  • No kidding. If you read my response you would see that I stated I never had it until it was part of a crop share. It had nothing to do with it being a supposed "super food" and everything to do with it being in my bunch of vegetables and being something I have never had before. I'm sure I've had it before that but just…
  • Walking is good exercise regardless. As far as how many miles per day, if you're walking your dog it depends on them and how far they can go.
  • Have you tried the DDP yoga program? I have the DVD's and it gets pretty intense. I was using it exclusively when I couldn't get to the gym and I lost inches with it.
  • There are a lot of good ways to prepare it. I've had it sauteed with bacon with blue cheese crumbled on it, I've frozen a bunch of it and used it in soups, sauces, and other dishes, I've had it steamed . . . .
  • Not everyone is a sheep. I never had kale until it was part of a crop share I was getting with my sister. Loved it ever since.
  • I LOVE kale! We always plant way more than we could ever use and have discovered freezing it. It's awesome to toss into soups and other meals.
  • I use this probiotic: lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item20831/ultimate-flora-critical-care. It has to be refrigerated though but that's not a big issue. I also take a prebiotic which is the food for the probiotic.
  • I do. I take a lot of different vitamins: D, multi, calcium, fish oil, cumin, coQ10, C, Krill, DHEA-- and a bunch of others -- because I personally don't think one can get all of their nutrients from the food they eat. I get my blood tested a few times a year and adjust what I take accordingly. If anything you should be…
  • I don't see how a one day fast -- juice or otherwise -- is a bad thing.
  • I'm confused. He's in a relationship with another girl but he's "seeing" you as well? Sounds like you're just a side dish.
  • Perhaps the person who bumped it did that so they can have the recipe readily available when it comes time to copy it down.
  • Yes but you still need a recipe.
  • I'm fairly certain everyone knows what a charlie horse is. I -- and I'm sure the other posters -- have never heard of anyone having one in their abdomen. To me that would just be gas pains.
  • @mattkdawson You are actually correct in your estimate. I just threw it into the recipe builder and it's 350 calories for one serving.
  • That looks delicious! I'm going to steal it! :)
  • My solution: Ditch the crappy air popper. Pop the corn in a pot on the stove in coconut oil. Put olive oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese on it. That is my favorite (hangover) snack.
  • Chances are good the food you are reheating already lost some of the nutrients in the previous cooking.
  • If you're getting them from the store they're not exactly "cage free". Sure they might be able to wander around a little bit but if you're thinking that they're running around a yard willy-nilly, free as a bird, then you're mistaken.
  • Actually it does taste better. My husband and I went in on a quarter cow last year. Grass fed, no antibiotics, no hormones and it is hands down the best beef I have ever tasted. It even smells different. We got ground beef for burgers and have had friends and family eat them and even they agree that the burgers were like…
  • @PlantBasedKnight So what you're saying is that I can eat 10,000 calories a day with no fat and not gain a pound?! That is like the most amazing thing I have ever heard! *runs off to stuff face* (/sarcasm)
  • Definitely supplement the vitamin D. The RDA's that the FDA comes up with are so pathetically low it's laughable. You can not get your RDA from food and I don't know where you're from but where I live 6 months out of the year it's winter and I'm not in the sun. I get around 8,000 IU's of vitamin D a day and the last time I…
  • Well I have a ton of cookbooks and I've done shrimp pad thai, chicken with rice and veggies, salads, hamburger on a portobello mushroom cap, pork chops, potato leek soup, chicken pot pie (usually made with the leftovers from roasted chicken) . . . lots of stuff!
