Do I just need to almost force myself to eat or snack more throughout the day?

Thank you!!

Before is a personal preference I'd say. I can't eat much before a run but if I'll be out for 8+ miles I'll usually east a banana before-something small. If it's 13+ miles I'll take some gummies or chews to snack on incase I get hungry. I'm usually starving after (run in the am as well) and try to get a good balance of…

So today I did 17 miles and came home and had half an apple and tbsp of PB with a bowl of cream of wheat and a scoop of protein, is that a good balance do you think??
-
Yes I'll eat a banana or something before if it's 10+ and take some chews if it's 15+ and eat them along the way.

Is there a certain amount or ratio of protein to carbs I should be eating after a run?
-
That looks amazing!!!!!

Thank you everyone for replies! They're very helpful.

Yeah I'm usually pretty hungry after a 20-miler but a banana and peanut butter is what I have been having after an 8 mile.

I like to chop up two hard boiled eggs (I only use one of the yolks, though), add a little mustard and pepper and paprika or any spices really and mix it well. I've also added onions and some leftover chicken as well. Super yummy egg salad - it's great on a whole wheat tortilla or bread or just by itself!

All great ideas thank you! Do y'all get fat free or full/low fat? I don't really know anything about what is best in regard to that.

I almost always take a wrap when i will be on campus all day. I usually use canned chicken and lots of spinach or lettuce with peppers and onions or whatever veggies I have on hand and make my own spread by mixing plain Greek yogurt with spices or a little siracha.

[quote="ThickMcRunFast;35535329" I generally use one every 45 minutes during a race, though once I knew which ones I liked, I stopped using them during training (I want them to be a boost, not a crutch). [/quote] How would y'all recommend to take them during training so that they don't become a crutch? That is not what I…

First marathon June 4! Pretty nervous, I've only ever done 5k's.. Could use any advice!
-
I'm also training for my first marathon! Mine is in June and right now I'm running at about a 10-11 minute mile. I'm hoping to be able to pick up the pace but even if it's slow, 26.2 is an accomplishment!!

I got this app and have been looking at training programs, does the voice tell you when to switch between fast and slow during interval runs?
-
Why avoid map my run? Any specific reason?

Awesome thank you so much for all that information!

Thank you everyone!

I have always had a sweet tooth. I love taking plain Greek yogurt and adding to it. You can add fruit, oatmeal, and recently I have found adding just a bit of chocolate powder (cake mix, nesquick, even protein powder) goes a long way, and when chilled it tastes like chocolate ice cream:) just be sure to log it so you know…
