I cook for myself, 2 meals per day usually, and for my wife, 2 or 3 separate meals per day usually. I'm retired, so it gives me something to do.

Pam olive oil spray is the way I use small amounts of oil on hot pans for cooking stuff. With spray oil, I can get 1 or 2 grams in the pan, and those get logged. The only things I need deep oil for are french fries and fried eggs.

There was a period in my life when I exercised morning, noon, and night. Morning was an hour of racquetball, noon was an hour of weightlifting, and night was an hour of aerobics. I maintained my obesity because I ate enough to stay obese.

Sweet potatoes. In 1929 my father was 9 years old when money disappeared and his father couldn't sell his crop of sweet potatoes. The family survived the winter on nothing but sweet potatoes. Dad lived to 2005 and never again touched sweet potatoes.

I am retired, although at 2 of the last 3 places I worked I had, used, and logged standing at a desk for 8 hours a day. juststand.org. I recently learned of wobble boards, and imagine that using one of those in conjunction with a standing desk would be more exercise to log after a busy day of work.

Heavy cream has 50 calories of fat with 1 net grab of carb in a 15 ml portion. Another I use is half a scoop of whey isolate protein powder, vanilla creme flavor, with 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon. This is 70 calories of protein with 1 gram each for carb and fat. This is surprisingly delicious.

I have 3 adult daughters. I do not ask for anything special on statutory Father's Day. It is enough that they stay out of jail. This past Sunday, nothing from any of them. Not even jail.
